NBA Stars Who Weren't Highly Recruited Out Of High School
Спорт
While they may be famous today, not every NBA star was a big time recruit in high school. Some of your favorite NBA players were once afterthoughts to make the league, but now have college coaches and programs kicking themselves for having missed them in the recruiting process.

We made a mistake and said Steph was drafted #9, when he was actually drafted #7. Sorry Steph!

Thats why you have to prove and show why you should go pro. You cant just go cause you think your #1 or its your last year. Theres probably lots of players who would have done great in the nba.

Saw Fred VanVleet play in high school, and I knew then he was something special ❤️🖤💜
For Damian Lillard's case, he kept transferring to different schools. He was 5"5" in his freshman year that grew to 5"11ft tall. Going to 3 different HS before his important summer season before senior year hurts his recruitment as he kept bouncing to different school because of lacking of playing time and because of the high cost of a private school in his Soph year that he transferred to a big class sized public school. If he had gone to a better "basketball school" in the Alameda / Oakland area, he might get more notice. Who knows? If he had grown more taller before his senior year, maybe more offers would come his way. He wound up growing three more inches to his 6 "2" listed height.

they had a good football team like 4 3 years ago
There's a theme running through a few of these which is that they had to develop a game before they had physically developed. By the time they grew or filled out, they had developed an all-round game that didn't rely on height or strength.
This video motivates me 💪
Loved these videos!

I heard of Weber State way before Lillard. They were the 14th seeded team who upset the North Carolina Tarheels, a 3rd seeded team in the 1999 NCAA tournament
2:21 Lillards hand be like 📈📈
Can't catch all the fish. I don't think recruiters and scouts are really kicking themselves about not seeing the way these guys would develop. A related question is whether they were going to be stars regardless or whether they became stars because they were motivated by being overlooked. Either way, glad they put in the work and we get to watch them do what they do on court, now.

It matters when you peak. Booker was a 6th man in college. He is a multi-millionaire now. Some amazing players dont get better in the NBA and so they dont become dominant. Some people still look at high school as their golden years. Sad. Keep getting better.
Caris levert should be on this list...Ben wallace...Dennis rodman...
How the hell you not have Victor Oladipo?

the SONICS drafted russ not the thunder
jason preston next for this list
what people do in highschool doesnt dictate what theyll do in life
You forgot about PG getting a offer from Georgetown
don't think 5'11 in high school is "only"
You should do “Top 5 best Wr/Te and Qb duo of all time”
Interesting
Can remember watching Lillard in person as I live right next to Weber State.
