That may be part of it, but Orlando was surprisingly mediocre on the road that year going 18-23, then finishing their last two playoff series without a road win memorably being swept by the more experienced Rockets in the Finals.

1995 Magic/Pacers and 1998 Bulls/Pacers were nearly identical except for having game 5 and 7 reversed, 1995 had a close game 5 with a blowout in game 7 while 1998 had a blowout in game 5 with a close game 7.

Magic we’re toying with Pacers. They almost blew a 15 point lead. At no point, at the start of the series, did I think the Pacers would beat the Magic. Pacers needed Reggie’s 6 points in 18 seconds to beat the Knicks. Knicks should have been here

Orlando was my 1st favorite team when I started following the NBA in the mid 90's. Penny Hardaway was my favorite even tho Shaq was the MVP of the team. They were on a special run (the only other team in the 90's outside of the Pistons to eliminate MJ in a playoff series. And yes WE ALL know he was just returning from baseball 🙄)...up until the finals when Nick Anderson went to the FT line late in game 1, with a chance to ice the game 😩
