    Ehh, 95-98 Jordan wasn’t exactly prime Jordan. Maybe ‘95-‘96 Jordan, but even then, true prime Jordan was early ‘90s Jordan, maybe late ‘80s too (their team dynamic came together finally in the early ‘90s, but late ‘80s Jordan was GOAT-swaggin’ his dick off lol) but late ‘90s Jordan was not really Prime Jordan in my eyes, and I was there. He was still great, particularly ‘95-‘96 Jordan, but he wasn’t the same ridiculous athlete anymore in terms of speed and jumping ability. Then again, Luka is slow so maybe Kidd having played against only ‘95-‘98 Jordan (and ‘01-‘03 Wizards Jordan, but we’ll all just keep pretending that shit didn’t happen lol) is better because that’s when Jordan had to use his mental speed/acuity (and toughness) more than his athleticism, which of course is what Luka has to do, so I suppose your underlying point stands but the explicit particular statement that Kidd played against Prime Jordan is a just a little specious in my view for the reasons stated before. Nonetheless, again, your broader underlying/implicit point that Kiddo’s experience plying against Jordan is probably useful to coaching Luka nowadays.

    I agree. Wait until the playoffs roll around, Luka is very motivated to destroy the narrative that he doesn't play defense! Luka has never been nearly as bad on defense as some people claim, but this season he is noticeably better on that end than he's ever been. I think Kidd has finally got through to Luka what it's going to take, and Luka hates people talking ish and disrespecting him on social media.

    Sadly, the answer to that is as plain as the nose on your face --- the reason Larry is not mentioned among the greats is the same reason Luka is not taken seriously as an MVP this season. It's because of the one thing they both share in common. Just think about it for a second and it will come to you --- it's only skin deep. Sad really. But that is what is going on here.

    What? Is Luka at fault because of scoring 73. People make these statements "…NBA Legends sent… a MESSAGE", that's ridiculous, Luka isn't claiming anything, it is the media and KZreadrs who are making heightened statements. The only thing Luka has been fighting for is to win games, and to reach the Playoff, if the MVP comes with it, of course he wants it, if any American player would be leading the NBA in scoring percentage, and having almost triple double averages plus being one of the top triple double number of games and most number of games with 40 and 50 points shooters this year, plus a much better defense, having very decent numbers in steals and blocks (and rebounds), being one of the best passers and to assisting players, any American player doing all that would be having so much media attention, positive, bragging about it. But you through shit because he scores 73, it says more about your jealousy, about Luka, it only says good things.

  • @blaque5582

    @blaque5582

    2 ай бұрын

    James Harden did it to, Westbrook averaged close to a triple double 3 or 4 times. That style of play doesn’t get you rings unless you play defense. Nobody is jealous of Luka… I’m a Jordan and Kobe fan so when I look at Luka and shrug it’s because I’ve already seen the pinnacle and it looks nothing like Luka. Thoughs numbers don’t equate to titles because that system is a bail out system. Very little player movement off ball. And I just thought about it… he’ll never have the energy to clamp anybody up because he’s always running every aspect of the offense. Dallas ruined their chances of great point guard play by overly focusing on him. You had Brunson and you have Kyrie… let them play their natural position 50% of the time so Luka can play some defense and his teammates can get into a rhythm to give him some help. Luka is a REAL basketball player who can play basketball in a movement based system because he was taught that in Europe. You haven’t even seen the best version of this guy yet because of the system he plays in currently. The one flaw that this system has is that it requires far too many dribbles (energy) for him to get a bucket. In the playoffs that’s a bad look. Defenses will scheme to let you get 50 and send you to Cancun because nobody else could get in rhythm. Think about it. You seem like you love the games so I need YOU to analyze what’s happening.

  • @imdbtruth

    @blaque5582 What are you talking about? Luka has been good on defense this season. 1st in the NBA in post-defense, 10th in the NBA in iso-defense. 7th in Steals, and 0.6 Blocks per game. It's not like it couldn't have worked for Harden, who is great but not as great as Luka, but it was Harden himself who struggled in big moments in the Playoffs, and that's why his teams lost to amazing GSW teams. Luka doesn't suffer from this, as he's 2nd in career PPG in the Playoffs, and 1st all time in career PPG when facing elimination in the Playoffs. *These are NOT the same animal!*

    @@blaque5582 was I talking about titles. I was saying that this type of click bits titles like Luka is calming anything? He just scored 73, but this type of vid make an issue implying that Luka needed to be given a message like he has done something, he’s just playing astonishing basketball, and people is talking alone, so why som much talk that, other that jealousy , I don’t see the point. By the way Harden only scratched the numbers that Luka had been getting since he was a rookie, his numbers were actually comparable to Lebron and MJ, and is still getting numbers comparable to them. And Westbrook, with his numbers he got MVP.

    I remember growing up in the golden era of Basketball there was so many greats on different teams it was like different flavors of greatness and we celebrated the competitions of these different teams and their stars going to battle each week. Now it seems we just tear down our stars and only talk about the GOATs and how current stars don’t stake up, it’s really a sad state of affairs. The amount of pressure put on stars by the sport media only force all these ridiculous super teams. The NBA ratings are down and there are many reasons to blame but I blame the sport media all they do is tear down athletes and yes Championships are very important but it’s the journey and struggle to get there and achieve and fans experience that journey to climb the mountain and plant their teams flag, that is why fans invest and watch their team and stars through out the years.

    @Patriot-Vibez Even if more defense was supposedly being played, which is laughable on it's face because the Raptors never forced the ball out of Kobe's hands for the entire 4th quarter, but even if Luka was facing that 29th ranked Raptors defense instead of the Hawks, give him an extra 13 shots and an extra 10 free throws like Kobe tool and bet Luka could still top 81. 46 shots by Kobe is an obscene amount of shots, the 33 shots from Luka is reasonable. In Kobe's 81 point game, he had a usage rate of 90% in the 4th quarter of a blowout win, that's absurd levels of ball hogging and stat padding. Luka was still passing late in the game and playing the right way, that's why his game is the best 70+, he's the only one who wasn't trying to put up huge numbers, it just happened naturally.

    European basketball used to have about the same level of respect as the WNBA (no shade ladies, do your thing) in this country. But like women's basketball, there's a lot more fundamentals built into the player, then comes style. American basketball has turned into style over substance. If they bring back hand checking and actually start calling traveling and flopping maybe I'll give the Association another try. But for now, the game is hard to watch when you've lived through Magic and Bird basically saving the league, then watching Jordan elevate the league to even more popularity. There are a ton of great athletes in the game, and I feel as though the spectator is not getting the best version of the game. I would love it if it were possible to put any current team's roster against the Bad Boy Pistons, with the rules in place from Detroit's peak and see how they do. They gave Jordan problems. I can only imagine what they would do to LeFlop...

People who didn't live through MJ time don't knows he had a lot to learn and improved every year. The same with Le Bron people talk about how great he was when they forget he was a ball hog and would play hero ball not trusting, the rest of his team. People calling Luka a ball hog are not watching the games. I got frustrated when Luka pass the ball off late in games their was like a lid on the basket. It was not that Luka is hogging the ball it's that his team was not finishing the play. Luka is way a head of the game at this point in his career compared to MJ and le Bron. I can't say anything about Kobe because I stop watching Basketball during his time. I start watching it again early in LeBron's time.

    Michael Jordan has the eternal record of more points in only 15 regular seasons in the NBA and won 6 titles (40%). Jordan is the NBA GOAT with this fact written in stone for decades to come. LeBron and others made more points *in more than 15 regular seasons*. My respect to LeBron James for playing more than 20 seasons and his record for more than 40,000 points in the NBA. LeBron is spending 1,5 million per year in his training and nutrition, but he lost the opportunity to beat Jordan's record in 15 regular seasons. LeBron didn't win 6 titles in even 20 regular seasons (2003-2023). Larry Bird and Magic Johnson chose Michael Jordan as the GOAT, for many reasons and the plays they witnessed. Wilt was tall and athletic but he did not collect 22 NBA awards like Michael Jordan. What would have happened if MJ didn't retire in 1993? More titles... Phil Jackson thinks the GOAT is Michael Jordan. kzread.info/dash/bejne/o6CAscWYqLXIj8Y.html Phil Jackson won 11 rings: . 6 rings with Chicago Bulls & Michael Jordan, and . 5 rings with Lakers & Kobe Bryant. *The NBA GOAT* Ranking for Points Per Game in his career: 1.Michael Jordan 30.12 points 2.Wilt Chamberlain 30.07 points 3.Luka Dončić 28.40 points 4.Joel Embiid 27.85 points The NBA single-game points record is currently held by Wilt Chamberlain who scored 100 points for the Philadelphia Warriors against the New York Knicks in 1962. Bill Russell only has 17 awards, including 11 NBA championship rings. Jordan has 22 awards. Dropping microphone right here (enough facts). MVP 6 times in 6 NBA Finals and won 6 titles in only 15 regular seasons. Jordan has 6 NBA champion rings (6 MVP in those finals), 5 times MVP of the regular season, 3 MVPs of the All Star, 1 time named the best defender of the year, 1 time the rookie of the year and other awards. Jordan was the NBA's leading scorer 10 times from 1986 to 1993...he left the NBA for one year and then got the same award from 1995 to 1998. In the 86-87 season he had the best score with 37.1 points per game. Wilt Chamberlain holds the record for most points scored in a season with 4,029 (1961-62). Wilt Chamberlain was 7 times the top scorer. Michael Jordan is the other player than score at least 3,000 points in 1 season (Chamberlain accomplished that 3 times). The 5 MVP of the regular season of Michael Jordan *is tied with Bill Russell* (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has 6 MVPs of regular season in his Hall of Fame career with the Bucks and Lakers). Dropping the mic right here, again... Jordan made most points, Pipen was a great part of the Chicago Bulls legend and Rodman did most rebounds with full heart.
