David Stern once said his dream finals match up would be Lakers vs Lakers so there was no way he was going let little ol cow town Sacramento beat the NBA glamour franchise Lakers with Kobe and Shaq and shortly after the 2002 Finals ended the NBA signed a billion dollar TV deal based largely on how many people watched the Lakers in the finals that year. If Sac made it no one outside Sac would have watched and Stern knew it.

3:03 It wasn't a bad performance by the refs it was fixed plain as day. I'm from Sac and I watched that game and saw how bad those calls were. The easiest way for a ref to give a team points is to put them at the free throw line and the fact that LA got 27 free throws in the last 12 minutes basically proves it was rigged. I don't think there's ever been a game where a team shot 27 free throws in a single quarter before even with hack a Shaq. Teams don't shoot 27 free throws in an entire game.

Cotton picking is sorta meaningless nonsense. I think a simple apology for an expression he didn't think anything of but sees how we should migrate away from it is enough. I didn't mean to imply, e.g. you were a slave, and we were living in that era.
