What Can I Expect From This Learning Circle?
With the holiday break around the corner, many families have the opportunity to spend more quality time together. For some of us, this extended time together mainly affords the blessing of being together. For others, we are too often confronted with navigating difficult personalities and unsolicited comments from those nearest to us.
How do we navigate these challenging spaces to ensure we are safeguarding our mental health while still preserving our ties with our loved ones?
What Are Maristan's Learning Circles?
AlhamdulilAllah, in just six months Maristan has delivered on its promise to draw from world-class innovative Muslim mental health research to provide psychoeducational programs tailored to the unique needs of our community. Learn more at maristan.org
Today we present the launch of our Learning Circles, which will be regular educational programs supporting the holistic spiritual and mental health needs of the Muslim community. A boundary isnt a rule. It is the way we present what we will and will not tolerate that differentiates a boundary from a rule. Rule: do not ever cheat on me again Boundary: i will not have you cheat on me ever again We can still remain kind and polite while keeping firm on our boundaries. If we are just kind and polite without having boundaries, toxic family will take advantage of our forbearance. We need to show a good example to our children. We do not want to raise pushovers

The key to good character comes down to remembering Allah. And remembering what we do and how we behave comes down to our belief in Allah and representing our deen in a good way and our upbringing. In other words don’t sink to people’s level. Always do what is right and what Allah and our prophet has taught us. In the end think of the reward. It takes strength and class to maintain that good character

There's a side of the world it seem like y'all don't know about, it's not discussed and if it is, briefly. But nothing in depth. Bi'ithnillah if it's good for this life and the hereafter, one day justice will be brought to it.
