In 2022 I was on Okaloosa Island for 4 nights in late May and it was rain, chilly weather, and red flag beaches the whole time. The first time I went in 2016 got to experience the clear waters so 2022 was sad. Gunna book something for 2024 and hope to hell I don't get rained out. 😅

Great video! I hadn’t seen one on Navarre Beach as comprehensive as this one. We are going there in about two weeks. We live in San Diego, CA. One thing…pagodas is pronounced puh-go-duh. (Like a Japanese Pagoda.). We plan to eat at Juana’s, while we are there. Great video!

Beaches in the Panhandle are different. I’m used to going to beaches where all I do is park and show up because everything else is at the beach. The beaches in the Panhandle you have to bring everything, food, drinks, chairs, shade, tables, coolers, etc etc. Pretty much a UHaul to go to the beach. Been here 2 years and have only gone to the beach once because of that.

I definitely used to feel that way as well coming from a city where we didn’t have a beach close by. It felt like you had to drag everything with you and make a big day of it. But after living here for a few years I’ve gotten very used to just showing up with a towel and flip flops and enjoying it for a few hours. Being that it’s so close you can visit frequently. Grab lunch or a drink at one of the beach bars/restaurants. You should visit more often! Thanks for watching 🏝️

I sincerley feel your pain. You have the option to go back where you came from or you can just quit whining. Most of the locals already hate thier own beaches because of people like you moving here and wanting our place to be just like the place you felt the need to leave. We would really prefer people like you not come here unless you want to be a part of the community which apparently you don't. Have a great Summer!! It's beach season!!! I hope you enjoy your first hurricane cause tis the season.

😂We live 2 min from beach in So California and thats what we all do! You bring your own including surf boards etc. and stay the whole day! Navarre beaches and water are gorgeous. Our son and fam moved there and love it !!

@@user-eg9qq2nd7k I lived in the Caribbean for a few years and the beach had everything. Picnic tables, plenty of coconut trees providing total shade, vendor up and down the coast, on site establishments selling all kinds of food and drinks, music playing everywhere, etc etc. I never had to bring anything. Then I get to Destin, and there is just sand and water Lol Walked down the coast, and walked out at the next access. Absolutely nothing to do.

Catch some Pompano...Filet them and take to Scooter's and have them cook them up for you...!!!

Scooter's is good people. now, I live 2 blocks away.... I still grill, cast Iron, or oven My own fish..... unfortunately, pompano during the seasons fall/spring, gets overrun by the GOOGAN's

We just got done with two fantastic weeks in NW Florida, covering beaches from Pensacola Beach to Panama City Beach. We loved our trip, which was both for pleasure and our screening process for retirement locations in 2025. One challenge was that we didn't find any panhandle beaches that are basically flat or gently slopped into the water. And we didn't experience any beaches with more shallow water. (An example of what I mean is in this vid at the 1:21 mark. In this vid: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nXidrJptpZCfd84.html , at the 10:36 mark there are people on a flat beach. Notice those way into the ocean, but water only at their waistline, not over their heads). In your vid, you see a guy's upper body and because he is on a ledge, and from our experience, he would walk out and it would get deep quickly. Is this uneven shore situation a seasonal thing or is it always like that in the panhandle?

Hope you had a great time! It can definitely be a bit hit or miss as far as the beaches go up and down the coast. I know exactly what you mean by the waters dropping off rather quickly. There are some really good spots though throughout Pensacola Beach and Navarre Beach. One of the best spots in my opinion is the National seashore in between both of of them. It’s usually a bit less touristy and has some really shallow areas where you can walk out probably 50-75ft at least and only be knee deep or so. Also some awesome sandbars as well. I will say it took me a little while living here to find some of those spots. Let me know next time you visit and I’ll be happy to help point you in the right direction. Thank you so much for replying. We found the spots you are talking about and I agree, they were the least steep and most pristine! Good to know that those are the sweet spots. Great beaches, similar to Hawaii and Vegas, great place to visit not great place to live, poor infrastructure!
