Naturehike Cloud up 1 tent review and pitching instructions
My review and pitching instructions of the Naturehike Cloud-up 1-man tent - not sponsored or paid!!
For £100 this is the best tent I've ever had and I actually love this tent. After a few nights in it, I actually came to love being inside it, come rain come shine!
I've used the Naturehike Cloudup 1 tent for 9 nights on the trail (7 consecutive nights and 2 consecutive nights) in both good and bad weather. It's seen me through 200 miles and is spacious enough to be able to stretch and sit up. It's definitely windproof and waterproof which I confirmed sleeping out on a couple of stormy nights. It takes only minutes to erect and very importantly, can be erected in the rain in such a way, that the inner section can be put up after the outer section is put up, meaning it stays dry.
The Naturehike Cloudup 1 is spacious and has a small porch big enough to fit a large 65L pack and walking boots. I even slept with my pack in the tent one night so I had all my gear accessible.
Condensation isn't a problem with the Naturehike Cloudup 1 as the separation between the inner and outer is large enough that there is no contact between the two. There is a little ventilation window too that has a handy tool attached to it to keep it open without the need of a guyline.
This tent is perfect for a hiker in the UK and I can't recommend it highly enough and look forward to many many more nights in it.

This is a great review and video. I used this tent last week camping in Cumbria. The advice given for setting up the tent in the rain was so useful and saved me a lot of hassle, thank you! It's a great little tent.
Great video separating the inner from the outer is something I'm going to start doing and keeping it inside my rucksack comprehensive video keep up the good work
Great video and great tips. This was helpful. Thank you!
Great review and set up instructions!
Great video I was looking to replace my cloud 1 because of having to set up inner 1st but after watching this video I can keep this and save some £ so thanks for making the video
Really helpful video. Thanks!

A real pleasure! Hope you have some awesome times outside 😁
Thanks for your great review. I have a Cloud Up 2, which I used a lot last year, and I also love that tent. I do feel that the Cloud Up 2 is really big when you use it as a one person tent, (almost too big) and I am thinking of getting the Cloud Up 1 to safe some weight and packing space. Your review convinced me this is big enough for 1 person, where you can also have your gear inside the tent. Cheers.
Thanks for that. Just ordered one direct from naturehike in olive green £117. Looking forward to using it
Nice and very detailed review, Mate. 👍

Thanks mate! 👍 Was fun to do 😆
Thank you so much.
Naturehike cloud up 1 is still good for outdoor enthusiasts who use it frequently. Although it is not as expensive as the brand, it is enough for general hiking use. It is a budget-friendly style.

Yea I agree with that. And especially the enthusiast bit. I'm no pro and can't afford the super light mega expensive gear so this is a great all-rounder without too many trade-offs I'd say. I could've got the larger one and paid a bit more but for one person, I found the space, size & weight versus cost to fine. You can get two people in there, but it is a squeeze. The real proof for me was when I hiked the 100miles south downs way in 3 days. I spent two nights in the tent and it was so important to be able to stretch, sit up and be protected after 2 x 30mile + day plus walks.
Does the outer fly have any tie up straps to fix it tight to the poles to stop the fly slipping in wind ?
Thanks for the review. Can you remove/unclip the part of the rainfly which creates the vestibule (if that makes sense lol), so that you can have a nice panoramic view when sitting inside the tent looking out? As it's set up in your video, it seems like the vestibule is quite enclosed and all views to the sides would be obstructed... Thanks :) Also - How tall are you? I'm 6"2 - would I fit comfortably lying down, with sleeping bag/mat etc? without my head or feet touching the tent?
Did you really do the south downs way in 3 days?.. if so that's very impressive!
How about using only the rain-fly and the floor for camping? I am looking at Vik 1, but it does not have good reviews condensation-wise, although it seems to be more free-standing than the Cloud Up.

Ooooh that's a good point. I'll HAVE to try that in the garden. Not exactly a field test but would be able to see what the condensation is like!!
I am not convinced about the inner to outer clip. To me it doesnt feel right. I think the inner can be effectively tightened by pulling the front poles a couple of cm forward. It could be that I am making a mistake!!
will a cot bed fit on it?
Where did you get this tent? Is this version the 210t or 20d polyester?

This one is the 20 D version these are currently for sale on Amazon
I don’t get it I have that tent and I found so cramped when I set it up in the garden
wish someone would try it with 2 people... really wanna know how it does. thinking about getting that to camp with my gf, shes pretty small.
After pitching this tent myself, there i no need to clip the inner to the outer, leave it clipped to the ground sheet.
Greetings from camper Thanks for a good video I bought exactly the same one Check some of my adventures

How did you find yours? Enjoyed watching your video 😊
I've got a Cloud Up 1. It's good, it looks simple to pitch and unpitch, but it's a pain in the ass actually. Too many pegs, too many tweaks here and there to make it work decently.
In windy conditions and pouring with rain everything would get soaked. Summer tent only I'd suggest.

No. He tells you in the video that he was in high wind and rain and was fine. He also tells you that you can set up the outer first and then setup the inner protected from the rain. I have the same tent. Very quick to setup in any conditions.

Having used it in both conditions, I can definitely say it stands to the test. I didn't really record any footage of my tent in the rain for review while I was on my hikes, but my most recent hike along the SWCP in Cornwall had two nights of very bad rain and wind, one of which you can sort of see for about a minute from this one I made: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nZt4lZiyZKu0k7A.html I don't know if you've used this tent or not, but based on my experience in it wild camping, it held up well. Cheers

Yea maybe! I know as much as I have used it, nothing more... other than that I had a flipping awesome time with it and it was EXACTLY what I needed. 😁😁
This looks like the 2-person tent and not the 1-person. Seriously. The 1-person weighs less and is less spacious inside. Please give the dimensions of the inner chamber.
I've used this tent, and all I can say is that it's a really really bad tent. Got me soaking wet. Condensation all over the place. Poor performance in terms of wind. And oh yeah, when in dusty location, dust comes in easily. Very very bad tent.

Maybe you are too reactive to outdoor life. It's better to stay safe in your cozy bedroom.
