Bonjour! Welcome to Episode 10
Nature Journal is therapeutic. In this video I am sharing how to start a Nature Journal and what are the Basic Techniques for Beginners. Nature Journaling starts with a mindset that helps you to develop an observant eye and reveal the nature wonders. Nature Journal is a fun artistic tool that enables you to log your observation, ask the right questions about nature. This video will help you to illustrate the nature around you. This includes botanical illustration, birds, trees and wildlife.

I love that you do not spend the first 5 minutes going on about nothing and repeating the same thing. I can get distracted easily and side tracked with those videos. You give endless amounts of valuable information. I am taking many notes. So far i have a small notebook dedicated to info you share. Are you a teacher? This is my first day on all your videos.

Oh! Thank you for noticing. I make concious effort not to waste anybody's time. I am flattered you take notes from my videos. I am not a teacher but I used to help my colleagues in college with summarized notes :). I am releasing this week a new video about another system I have regarding reading and books, hope you enjoy it. Have a beautiful week Lizanne. I am glad we came across.
So very helpful. I always want to go outside but never know what to when I'm out there. Finding and documenting Nature for a journal is perfect!

Wonderful! I am glad you are enjoying it. I learned a lot about my area since I started Nature journal. I just released a video about my journaling experience in one of the Greek islands (Poros) where I am sharing the nature elements I observed along with storing some items in my Cabinet of Curiosities.
9:05 The shell with a hole in it is called a Hag Stone or seer stone. It is suppose to be a good luck charm if worn and it is said you can look through them to see into the fairy realm. I really like this video, as it was vey short and concise with good tips. Thank you for making it.

Very inspiring. I often feel rather intimidated by the drawing skills of people, but you showed me that it is a growing process, to look better and then to draw better. Thank you! May you be blessed!

What a beautiful journal! I have absolutely no clue on how to start with this, but it might help me with learning botany. I don't even know how to hold a pencil correctly. I stumbled across John Muir Laws' channel and now yours, beautiful!!

You are so welcome, I am glad you found it useful. I practice natural journaling in two setups. The first is the outdoor setup for which I take my portable field notebook to log my observation and sketch (very enjoyable). It can be during your daily walks around your house, at the park or while traveling (checkout this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/eqCG0s17objAdLQ.htmlsi=tD2jiTZK-INjWXNL). The second setup is the indoor one in case I observed something that inspired me and I journal later about it in my office (a brief research). hope I answered your question 😉🕯📖
Your videos are inspiring and very soothing. I am recovering from Covid and am binging many. ^_^

@@journaldesylvie that's wonderful!!!
Because you said you add the Latin names of the species it occured to me that i could use this to expand my vocabulary in foreign languages. I find i lack the words for specific bird or tree species. As i prefer drawing over writing, this is also much less intimidating to me than a commonplace book is, although I like your videos on those.

your idea is creative! Absolutely you can enhance your linguistic skills through your nature journal. my next video is about the nature journal collection 📖🕯
Can you share where you get your nature stickers? Also, do you use watercolors, colored pencils or what to get the color. I'm only on my first page, but I used watercolors and the page really buckled.

Hello! Thank you for your questions. 1- I got it from Amazon. Please check the video description box, I added for you couple of links for nature stickers books and Botanical stickers. 2- As for colors I use Tombow brush colors, Crayon markers & Crayon Pencils (check video description box) If you prefer watercolors, I recommend get a journal for that purpose and dedicate it for nature journaling. Let me know how it goes :)
Thank you, great video. Can you use watercolor in this journal?
