The last native speaker and basket weaver was disenrolled locally. She was in her 80's. It was over family control and power over casino cash distribution. The fewer in the tribe, the more the power family gets. The tribal president was eventually removed, and the disenrollment reversed. Sadly after she died. She even had an original name, not an English or Hispanic name. It was horrible and tragic...

this happened to my friend's family in 2016 because they didn't want to share casino money, but she just told me about - 900 people were disenrolled - we're going to sue to force a dna test to prove they belong to the tribe - my maternal grandfather was cherokee, so it broke my heart to find out that the indigenous were killing off their own for no other reason than the lust of money ..

I understand the situation is difficult with no easy solutions. But it’s not right to downplay the pain these unenrolled families are feeling. She says they have housing options like everyone else - just not the option to stay in their current homes. That’s not the point. They are being kicked out of their home and community through no fault of their own. Just because they don’t meet your technical requirements, they are part of the Native community there. They seem to care more about technicalities than their community.

The fact that's there's a law limiting the number of tribes by "officially recognizing" the ones that exist interrupts the natural/organic growth of other tribes. Families grow to clans which grow to tribes...this is organic growth of peoples and nations. The deregistered members should be able to start their own lineage...

This is a sad state of affairs. The disenrolled should ask for a definition of the standard that makes a person a member of that tribe. If the basis is blood, the tribe standard can be compared by DNA. Is the standard defined by history? Is the standard: how many battles the ancestor fought? Then the tribe needs to define when the tribe began. That way the disenrolled can be compared to a standard. Otherwise, it is an arbitrary definition.

let's face it and let's get to a more deeper level of understanding here, how did our identity as a person lay in the power of somebody else's hands, our identity should not be dictated by our race and certainly not by a group of people. Sad thing here is that people have forgotten where they came from, they have forgotten God because we all came from God. so our identity is not in our race, our identity is in God. but if you're in the survival mode then your perspective is skewed and bad people will have power and control over you.

I just wanted to make a few comments of encouragement. First, I’m not a Native American. I wasn’t even born in this country. However, my family immigrated here from the beautiful Island of Jamaica, we are grateful for the freedom s and opportunity that we receive here, as we know not every country has that blessings. As it concerns this issue I wanted add the following: God is the Creator of the heavens and the earth. He made all human beings, plants and animals and all natural things we see. The Scripture says, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1). As human beings we are all one race - the human race. “Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us?” (Malachi 2:10 first half). “And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;” (Acts 17:26). Sin has caused all this hatred, malice, division, fightings and wars of all kinds, between man and their fellow men, family against family and nation against nations. That’s the reason the Scripture ask, “why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?” (Malachi 2:10 last part). Yes, sad it is but true. Sin is the cause of all these troubles. The sure cause of it all. “ For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23). “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” (Romans 3:10). “It continues to say, “there is none that doeth good… there is none that doeth good, no, not one.” (Psalm 53:1 & 3). However, the Lord loves us and didn’t leave us in this sinful condition without hope. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) Jesus took our place and paid the debt we owed when we became sinners. “He became our Substitute and Sacrifice. Since we cannot save ourselves, the Lord ask us to by faith in the merits of the shed blood of Christ to, “Behold, the Lamb of God who take the away the sin of the world.” John 1:29). “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)” (Ephesians 2:4) God “is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9). The Lord bids us “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” (Isaiah 55:6, 7). He is knocking for entrance as He wants our willing obedience, we need to surrender our lives to His and His service. “ Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” (Revelation 3:20). His Holy Spirit is also pleading, “Verse: 7 “Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, Verse: 8 Harden not your hearts,..” (Hebrews 3:7, 8). We are living in the last days of earth’s history. Jesus is Coming again. He is preparing mansions for all His believing children, Verse: 1 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. Verse: 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. Verse: 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” (John 14:1-3). The Lord tells us in His Word that He will create a new planet for those saved in Jesus Christ, “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away;” (Revelation 21:1). “For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.” (Isaiah 65:17). He continues, Verse: 22 “They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. Verse: 23 They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them.” (Isaiah 65:22, 22). Just put your trust in the Lord, endure until the end (Matthew 24:13) and you will not only get wealth imaginable , but most beautiful of all, you’ll get to spend eternity with the Lord forever in a beautiful, peaceful planet with all the saved as well. Finally, a reminder to all, “For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.” (1 Timothy 6:7). So, let God’s Love lead you all to, “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.” (Colossians 3:15). And, “If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.” (Romans). However, This will only be possible when we are changed into the Lord’s character. We are told, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13) Visit Reklamation Ministries for much more on these topics. May you receive these Words of life and be blessed. 😊

Its a sad predicament but, I understand the importance of lineage. My tribe is slowly being polluted with mixed blood lines. What I saw growing up were people who stood out from the rest. I can recall many times when other tribal members would say, Oh you're from ********. After the 90s our tribe has totally transformed and is unrecognizable. Most are the result of women getting pregnant and bring back kids to the tribe without a father. We a patriarchal and this is where things get twisted. The cute facture of families accepting daughters and kids when they should be with their fathers/husbands. Worst of all are the women who bring men back to the reservation. I have no issue with native-to-native relations. But as I stated the mixture is based on many races. Our language is dissipating due to lack of fluent speakers. Most try to justify the issue in any way they can, and most will not like what I wrote.

No native americans or Indigenous Tribes of North America are not inbred each tribe is divided by different clans. For example Sky Clan, Water Clan, Deer Clan, etc. (familial or marital) no the different clans aren't related to each other. Most marry someone from a whole other tribe.

But you can't go out of the tribe to get married to a non tribal person who truely isn't related to you because you've broken blood lineage , even if it's another native from another tribe !! If you all stay you become all related .!!!! So yes you get forced to go or stay unmarried !!

Real Indians were black, indigenous means black genius. Indi means black. Black people are the originators of every advanced civilization on every continent including Amaruka and Europe and China, South Amaruka, Australia… everywhere, even Siberia. The whole earth was taken over and their identities replaced by the newcomers. Black Amarukans are the Niiji of Turtle Island, it was the Biblical “first Egypt”…. The sun always decides who stays here in each apocalypse, that’s why we honour it’s light and we also honour our melanin… something the other races do not do… all while they adopt our spirituality and identity and wear it like a costume.
