That was truly beautiful .I have said many times the American Indians got a very bad rap.They were here first and the. White man screwed them over.

@DrIvoRobotnick I'm still learning about what happened but it seems like the people who began AIM and who started the occupation were making a statement, not so much "f u" the government, but to promote awareness and pride in all Native cultures. And to bring the tribes closer together. Bad things did happen on the island, and they will no matter where you live or who you are but the main point was believed to be recognized. They had a lot of support from people of many different backgrounds.:)

obviously you don't know the story. It was about native americans trying to better their situations for their people, Richard Oakes began the occupation to start negotiations with the gov't to better conditions for Native Americans- the most disadvantaged minority in the US. It is not fair..what native people have suffered and how they are still treated today. They had a right to claim this land under the Ft.Laramie treaty, but US still denied them- another broken treaty! Big surprise!
