This is what I've found while meditating on the Bible and my life. God said he didn't give us a spirit of fear. I literally see all feelings as spirits. Depression is just an evil spirit that pushes away Joy, happiness, confidence and fulfillment. I no longer welcome depression. It no longer holds power over me. I see it and let it move past me now. Not in or through me. I no longer have the spirit of anxiety either. No more attacks! Amen for healing 🙏🏾

You can choose to be connected to Nature-- find a tree in your neighborhood park. It can be in a box on the street, it doesn't have to be in the forest. Visit your tree as often as you can. If it is within walking distance, all the better. Take a little walk, pause at your tree. Speak to the tree (in your mind, the tree hears you) Ask the tree to help you be grounded as it is, roots deep in the Earth, branches reaching to the sky. Take time to listen to the tree, You may not hear words (at first) but feel the connection you have to trees, plants, Mother Earth. This feeling of connection and a true tangible connection comes with your intention. Set the intention to be connected, aware, open to the gifts and guidance of Nature. It is there for you. Open to it with your Intention. All the same goes for community. Set the intention to find the people who nurture you, the comunity doing heart centered work. Maybe there is volunteer work that calls to you; those people may be folks you can build community with. Don't look for them in the bars. Choose positive activities, outside, in a gym, in a food pantry, where might "your" people be? go find them, Best wishes. Know there is unconditional love streaming to you. Open to receive it. You are worthy.

This brought me to tears as well, I am severely struggling with many things mental heath and the core of it is “I am bad” so to be reminded of my beautiful spirit absolutely mended something within. I’ve heard people speak before about “you are GOOD, tell yourself you’re good. You’re not bad because you have been through trauma” but no one has spoken to me the way he did. That part brought generational tears from deep within me.

@AryAyala, depression has many causes. The good place to start is to heal your gut & to eat quality food, remove toxins from your skin, home, water, as much as you can. Manage your interactons with toxic people. After all that, dealing with childhood & life trauma should help. Kick it naturally has some short useful videos how to go about it. Check on methylation & genetic changes too to figure out what your body needs as support. Watch videos by Dr Ramani & The Little Shaman to figure out toxic people & how to stay away & set boundaries. I wish you healing. Hugs.

...I like the story of depression. I like the story because of how he encourages befriending depression rather than exchanging it for anger and bitterness. When we do exchange our depression for anger or bitterness this only serves to push us into isolation which only serves to deepen our depression.

I walked the lands of Oregon many times, along the rivers and the trees and the energy, the life force of the ground seemed palpable, the manifestation of energy into form. I often felt like I sensed the presence of all the peoples who walked there before me. Oregon awoke my spirit into the world for the first time when I was just a child. I became conscious of all life and myself a part of it all. I can not even conceive of who I would be now without such a beautiful place.

Golden teaching ✨ this aligns with Thich Nhat Hanhs teaching. When TNH says be with your feelings. If you feel anxious say “hello, anxiety, let’s enjoy a cup of tea together”. Beyond grateful for the elders wisdom. 💛

I’m not sure if it’s the lack of sleep or… everything. But the depression bit made me cry this is amazing. He explained it so well and I’m happy I watched this. I’m trying to learn more about my roots and I love this new chapter for me. Thank you for sharing.
