Religion leads to further break ups, which is why it can not be the basis of a nation. Especially religions like Islam. Judaism is not just a religion that you can CONVERT easily into, rather, it is a religion that most are born into. It is one of the hardest religions to convert to as well. This is why Pakistan and Israel, both formed on the basis of religion, but one is worth nothing. The other is so strong that no hamas rockets can strike civilians in the country because of their extreme focus on scientific advancements.
