Stump conveyed condolences to Gottsch’s family and the RFD-TV community, acknowledging the deep loss felt by viewers and colleagues. Over two decades, Gottsch’s efforts connected the FFA with broader audiences, making the organization’s events accessible to families and communities nationwide. His legacy includes the emotional use of Paul Harvey’s “God Made a Farmer” during FFA events, which moved many to tears.
Gottsch’s visionary ideas, such as featuring FFA in the Rose Parade, elevated the organization’s visibility. The Gottsch family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Patrick’s honor be made to the National FFA Foundation.
