As a human, I have to make an observation about Nate’s kindness. The sincerity - almost urgency - in Nate’s eyes as he asked Greg if he wanted a coffee is something I’ve only seen my wife do. Nate, it’s obvious you’re a very hospitable host and you take care of your friends. Now, as a devoted fan of the Nateland podcast I have to say, bring back PB-slingin’, all-American Greg Warren more often. Keep up the good work, folks!

My Dad was a cop, so at career day when I was like ten years old, he came (only time he made it). Kids were asking if he ever shot anybody, and he’s just brutal “sure, sometimes you gotta shoot a bad guy” teacher was waving him off from the back. Good times.

Hey Nate, huge fan of your stand up and the podcast. I'm originally from Michigan, living in Ireland. Was at your show in Dublin and you absolutely crushed it, every joke hit so hard and I never stopped laughing. The only downside was that I was the only person to yell "hey bear!" and not only did you not hear it, but everyone around me has obviously never listened to the podcast so I got plenty of awkward stares. My brothers were visiting and came to the show with me so we spent the next few days reciting your jokes and laughing our faces off. Thanks for the memories!

I had really appreciated how your sponsor ad reads used to be all together at the beginning and midway through the show. It was nice just hearing them all at once then moving on. Now I noticed that they are sprinkled throughout. At first I wasn't fond of the new style. But I find the way you manage to transition from conversation to the ad reads now very witty and entertaining. BB Gun (Bates) does an excellent job making sure the bills are paid!

I agree. When they signed a deal with a new media company that stated ads would change. I'm guessing the way they do it now, less people fast-forward or tune out because they do transition so well into them throughout the episode.

Nateland History John Augustine previously appeared in Episode 9: Television. Here's a few fun facts from that episode: - They talked about television programs. - Aaron wore a colorful hat. - Nate pronounced "Grease" the movie like "Greece" the nation found in Europe's Balkan Peninsula (a foreshadowing of this episode?). -A commenter said everyone would call Brian "Worried" after he recounted an embarrassing story from high school. However, Jacob Richard came to the rescue with the first time Brian was referred to as "Breakfast." I'll go proofread this now.

A week ago I saw Nate preform live in London at the Union Chapel. The tickets were my Xmas from my partner who went with me. After the performance my Mrs who is a Psychologist commented on how Nate has a presence that not all performers have. So now Nate is not only the most confident sitter downer but he has a special presence to go with it. He has a new fan in my girlfriend now. The show was amazing, he brought the house down with the bits about watching Pearl Harbour & giving his wife’s email to the tree saver collecting donations. Loved the show, love this podcast. All four of you have me in absolute stitches each week. Thank you so much.

Coming from someone who grew up working in tobacco I can safely say there is no other job that compares. Hot, humid, wet, sticky, dirty, and other adjectives that describe a horrible Job. Thankfully our farm quit with tobacco when I was 14. I think it scarred me forever, but it made other task like football camp seem like a cake walk. Farming is a way of life for a kid. We pitch in work because it’s our livelihood. When all my friends were celebrating 4th of July and spring breaking I was working. Still to this day I’ve never gone on a spring break trip. Wouldn’t change a thing from my childhood tho! Love the Podcast guys!

Aaron, driving down a bumpy road is indeed a home remedy for going into labor. When my wife was two weeks overdue with our daughter, a crusty old farmer at church recommended, "Feed 'er Pizza Hut an' speed 'round the back roads." We didn't try, but our 11 pound plus daughter was born the next week (via C section). I'll go proofread this now.

When you mentioned Saint Patrick's Day it reminded me back in the 90s when I ran a camera store in Salt Lake City. The Saint Patrick's Day Parade would go right by the store. We decided to have a special sale of Fujifilm because it was in a bright green box. We set up a film display on the sidewalk, my assistant manager decided to name the sale " THE RUCK OF THE ILISH" SALE . I think that if somebody tried to pull that off now they would end up on the news. Thanks for all you guys do, Wednesdays are great because you guys.

I am 2 degrees of Kevin Bacon for a very random reason. I know first place is the 2nd loser, but glad I have this story. When I was younger my mom was a "dorm parent" for a girls dorm in a small town in Oklahoma. we had a student/player that was from Kenya named Miriam Owiti. When I was 9 I found out that she was actually scouted from a movie Kevin Bacon did in set in Africa called "The Air Up There". Nate would love this movie. Just an easy breezy classic. So, it turns out she was a teen in that movie and people in the US saw her playing and she was recruited to play college basketball in The States. Now I can always say I am 2 degrees of Bacon. Another interesting note is that my Aunt lives in the town called Elmore City in Oklahoma that inspired the movie Footloose because they used to forbid dancing. Not sure what degree that is, but I'm sure it's a least worth a nickel.

My sister in law was briefly a substitute teacher. One day she was filling in for 4th grade history and the class was reading Anne Frank's diary. One of the student's asked if Anne Frank was still alive. My sister-in-law, who is often wrong but never in doubt, replied "Of course she is! How do you think we got her diary?!"

Greg is right about computers in the 80s. I graduated in 89 and took a couple of different computer classes. As a Freshman, I took typing because I knew that I would be leaning towards a computer career. I can remember even in Middle School, several math classes were starting to use computers for their courses. And all of that was just at a mediocre school system in the Dallas, Texas area. And by the way, I experienced plenty of career days on television shows and in movies but I never got to see one in real life. My generation was too cool for things like that. ;)

I was with Aaron when in the few seconds of quietness Greg asks Nate “Do you like Salmon?” It felt like when someone isn’t paying any attention to the conversation around them and their mind wanders then just throws out the most random question in the world. I’m glad Greg was able to make his case for the relevancy of it with his parents and the freshness.

I got stopped going into the Theatre, in the hallway by the manager telling me I couldn't bring my just opened bottle of Starbucks Mocha Frappuccino. He said I have to throw it away. I said, "Can I finish it?" He said, yes. So I stood there and drank it at a normal pace while he stood about 4 feet in front of me. We were looking at each others face the entire time. When I finished and tossed it in the waste bin. I said to him, "alright?" He said, "alright." I believe neither one of us were going to lose that confrontation and I don't think either one of us did.

Hello Nateland World. Ironic that Wednesday (prior to watching this weeks Nateland) myself and a colleague were discussing the pinnacle of baseball movies and came up with our top 5 (10). Field of Dreams, The Natural, Major League, Eight Men Out, Bull Durham (top 5). 42, The Sandlot, Moneyball, Rookie of the Year, Trouble with the Curve, (top 10). I imagine our list coincides mostly with what you all come up with but maybe not in the same order. My dad was a 1st Sergeant when he came to my career day in middle school circa 1982. He mentioned his tours in Vietnam and Korea. Someone asked if he had ever killed a guy and his deadpan answer "well it was a war so what do you think?"

I was born on St. Patrick’s Day and I took a trip to Dublin, Ireland in 2016 to experience their parade, they very much celebrate it like we do in the US. Many buildings even light up with green. I found out recently that i have Irish in me, its too bad i didn’t know at that time, it would’ve made it so much more special. I also tried a big mac at a McDonalds in Ireland, it was just not the same. Anyway, listening to John Augenstein is like pulling teeth, sorry, I just don’t have the patience 😂

I feel like Nate saying he wants to run a half marathon without the event would turn into that episode of the office where they ran a 2k for rabies. He would be able to run the half marathon but forget a detail like making the run a loop and just being stuck 12 miles away from where he started. He did mention running to McDonalds which was enough motivation for me to get off my couch and get McDonald’s. Love the podcast!

It's a different kind of country around here. Whenever it's deer hunting season the teachers don't teach anything important in school because so many kids are missing or coming in halfway through the day.

I'm on board with Greg Warren's (War Dog) opinion of Kevin Costner's "For the Love of the Game". The reason why it looked like Costner could pitch wasn't because of movie magic. He could really do it. He was pitching 80mph+ heat!

In 1985 I endured a computer class. I don't remember the name of the machine, but is was about as big a Volkswagen and the floppy disks were like LPs (look it up, Nate). I wrote a pro forma business letter and wrote a script that had as many script commands as the letter itself. So I thought, what's the point? Anyway, I programed the letter to do a mail merge with a spread sheet mailing list. I was so ready to "hit any key to continue." The upside of it all was I recalled a typing class from my 7th grade that I suddenly didn't regret so much. "Now is the time for all good men to shoot the quick brown fox."
