PS: there's a reason they mounted a fuse.. Remember you can be held responsible whenever a fire starts and burns down your home as a consequence of your LD player having a meltdown due to the fact you've removed it's failsafe.

Clean laser, tweak Vcurrent and gain (trimmers inside) It's a quick and dirty fix, not how it should be done, but it works. 10 minute job.

thats what my sony player started doing, wouldnt read discs but sometimes would read music cds, now it doesnt read anything anymore. Luckily I found a pioneer replacement/my current player then another unit at a yard sale last year.

Oh shoot. At least there are plenty of laserdiscs you can still watch with analog audio.

At first I assumed that this was just a rebranded Pioneer Laserdisc player. Instead from what I read on lddb's messageboard people are saying that the Samsung DV5000 is a rebranded Sony KHS-130A. So that's cool that you have different branded players in your collection. However, I personally don't like that it's a single sided player. I guess if the picture quality is good that's all that matters to some people. I'm not a fan of manually flipping discs personally. I'm definitely a bigger fan of the autoreverse(Panasonic Terminology) and both sides(Pioneer Terminology) players.

I don’t mind players that don’t change sides automatically. I also have a Pioneer player that does not change sides and a Pioneer player that does. Hope you are still enjoying your laserdisc hobby. I’m sure you are. Do you have Meatballs on laserdisc? Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.

I’ll have to give that a try. Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll make another video with it if I can get it working.
