Nashik is the 4th largest city in the state of Maharashtra. Nashik is one the most visited hindu pilgrimage place. Nashik is one of the four place, ( UJJAIN, HARIDWAR and PRAYAGRAJ) where the biggest hindu festival KUMBH MELA is happen after every 12 years at the bank of sacred Godavari ( Ganga of South ) river.
Nashik is also related with hindu epic RAMAYANA, as Lord Rama, Lord Laxman and Mata Sita used to live here ( near area of Panchavati nd Tapovan ) at the time of their 14 years of vanwas and this is place where Ravana abducted Sita MAta and then Laxman cut the nose of Ravan's sister Shurpanakha. Because of this event only this place is named as Nashik.
Also Nashik is the place where Lord Hanuman is born. There is Anjaneri Hills on which Anjana MAta (mother of lord Hanuman) worshiped lord Shiva for 108 long years and got blessing in form of baby Hanuman from Lord Shiva.
And this is not all, Nashik is the place where one of the 12 jyotirlings, Trimbakeshwar Jyotirling, is located. Where Shiva is use to live in form of jyoti.
Nashik is also famous for its vine factories and vine manufacturing. This vine also use to transport in different countries too.
