Nash Tackle Off The Hook Podcast - S2 Episode 12 - Alan Blair "From The Beginning" Part 1
Спорт
In this week’s podcast Mr Urban Banx himself Alan Blair joins Hassan for the first in a special miniseries all about his life in angling “From The Beginning”
In this episode Alan talks about his humble beginnings in fishing all the way through to the point at which he got his job at Nash Tackle. As to be expected from Alan it’s certainly not your stereotypical journey and it has everything from wholesome family memories, awesome old school captures through to the craziness of the rave scene and his previous work as a lecturer.
There’re more than a few shocking and colourful tales about how Alan carved his way through his early years defining and developing his angling as well as himself as a person. We just know that you are going to enjoy the next 2hrs!
*please note that due to COVID-19 restrictions we have filmed this podcast in a different location in compliance with the latest National Government guidelines. Therefore the audio, setting and format have changed from previous podcasts in order to ensure full compliance, safety and so that we can still bring you this content.

What he said at the start tho it wouldn’t be like another fisherman’s book from the start of his fishing it would be a photo with a little piece of writing. I’d still buy it though
This man is nothing short of a legend bruv!!! Mad Respect OG
Respect to Alan, a lovely genuine guy, and with heroes like John Wilson and Terry Hearn, he is, in my book, sound as a pound!
I get what Alan says about how raving consumes you. I never fitted in at school but I started raving at college/university and suddenly I had a whole family of close mates, amazing music etc I felt part of something. To me it was absolutely the pinnacle of everything. For want of a better analogy I was totally hooked. Well feel like I can relate to your experience Alan. Omg I went to Global around then too lol
That was amazing, loved every second can’t wait for the next one!
This guy is seriously enthusiastic and an inspiration to fishing, he works relentlessly from the passion he shows in his videos, to the mega carps he catches relentlessly.
Thanks for spending the time for sharing. Really enjoyable. Takes me back to my early days. Just any chance to go anywhere!
What a great PodCast, brings back memories of fishing with my Granddad/Dad - wicker basket day and all....!
Can’t wait for part 2!! What a sound guy Alan is! 👍🏼

What a legend could listen to his story’s for many hours 👌🏻
loved it! life of Alan
What a great human being
Fantastic! So insightful .....I lived in Hitchin for many years, and have fished many of the places Alan mentions, ..I wonder...he must have fished Briar Patch just outside Harlington, with the three lakes and the bungalow....may have become a syndicate though by that time he was there...miss that fishery. Awesome and looking forward to part two :).

Been waiting for Alan's one 😀😀
Honestly unreal guys brilliant
Shout out Shanager! Boom! I caught my biggest fish with Alan at the balance lakes at wolverton mill! Ha, what a lad!
Love this, it's lovely to see how anglers progress. Sometimes these "top" anglers seem to get the good jobs. It is interesting and good to relate to how the normal man progresses. It's better to talk than just see the glamour. Well done boys, very humble. Tight lines.
the life of blair is very interesting! very little is known about him pre nash! love it
Brilliant :)
Brilliant podcast
Big up John W, inspiration to many of us of our era.

Glad you enjoyed it Alan 👍
The best podcast to date, awsome to hear Alan's past scarily not to dissimilar to mine. Like myself tho says that his past has help shape him to who he is now. That is the view I have as well. Cant wait for 2nd chapter
Boss podcast
Great interview, lots to read between the lines. Kinda wish you had been explicit about how partying wasn't always a good thing because of the illicit side of it but also get why you kept that out of the story. Respect
I’m sure this’ll rack up some serious viewing numbers and will be an interesting listen.

Nice video 💪🏽
Nice one lads. Wish Korda could keep them going with Covid 😩 If that place was the return rooms bit small for Nash innnit? 🙊😋
When you worked at the Suttleworth college- was that in Old Warden? If so we probably put most the fish in that lake in the woods in the 80's :)
