    Good honest review, no bull just as it should! I have the R3's and I can honestly say the do the job great. Got them second hand and had no problems with them. On the flip side I had the delks before and had major problems with 2 of them when they got wet hence the change.

    I was going to go for R3s when my TXIs started playing up as I’ve always used RS1s aswell. It was the non standard battery that put me off atleast they’ve sorted that with the R4s. New Delks are much more reliable than the old I’ve found

    Hi Lee You said that in your next video that you were going to compare 12' rods and 13' rods. I am looking for some 10' 3lb or 3.25lb rods. Top end in £s round about £85 to 90, but not retractable ones, I do like to Shimano TX2.

  • @CaravanCarpers

    @CaravanCarpers

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Ray! Thanks for watching. One of the up coming videos will be a comparison of how much difference rod size, line diameter and reel size makes. Shimano tx2 are viewed as a great rod. Luke uses Shimano tx5s and loves them. I’ve had a few sets of 10ft rods but mainly retractable ones. The only ones I have not retractable are 10ft infinity’s.

    Hi Lee looking for set of rods, for fishing at 100 yards . To around 130 yards, small pva bags. But don't want a broom handle, looking at 3lb or 31/4lb. What is your thoughts on it

  • @CaravanCarpers

    @CaravanCarpers

    Personally I can’t Chuck a pva bag that sort of range with a 3 or 3.25tc rod maybe a 13ft but 0.35 would be a ball ach. For that sort of work I’d be using the 13 3.75 rods to make it easier on myself. Spodding 100+ in the wind I use a 13ft spod rod also.

    I wanna buy new alarms, and have a little problem with the choice I love the sound of the delkims and the look but, I don’t wanna have the fals beeps all the time when it rains or when it’s windy, You say you can use the dnd but when you’re sleeping in the bivy it only last for 15 min right ? Sow you have to switch it on every 15 min when it’s bad weather for a longer of time 😅. Right ?

    Hi sorry for the late reply ive been a little hectic. You can lock DND on for indefinite by holding it down till it beep rather than just pressing it once. You do get wind and rain beeps in extreme weather but these are much better than the older ones for it.

    @@CaravanCarpers Loving the comparison vids... great work!! I've heard a few people mention the non-standard batteries being off putting for them when considering the R3s. Interestingly though, I've used R3s for the past 5 or so years and only had to change the batteries once so it's not something I think people need to worry about. I also carry spares and the batteries are tiny so it's no inconvenience.
