The right hand Naz connects with at 21.20 is fucking incredible, it was a privilege to watch him at work,,,

21.20,,,,,i have never seen a punch like it,, what a fighter.

This is Naz at his best, at Super Bantamweight. He shouldn't have moved up to featherweight until he had become undisputed champ at 122lbs. Warren moved him up when he wasn't even struggling to make 122, and the reason was because he also promoted WBO featherweight champ Steve Robinson so it was an easy fight to make, and he just wanted Naz to be world champ. A bit more patience and Naz could've cleaned up at 122. At 126 he was always the smaller man.

So strong and fast, so quick so handsome, this guy was good and brought in the punters, Shane he got beat but prince , my guy you lost against a super legend. Nothing wrong with that. Folks- never forget the Kelly v hameed fight. Awesome.

he shouldn't have lost to Barrera...there was absolutely nothing special about him, whereas Naseem Hamed was a very gifted and original Boxer, with deadly punching power. He rushed his training for that fight b/c of the crazy numbers they threw at him...

boxing champ "Prince" Naseem Hamed has been left rocked by the death of his father. Sal Hamed, who left Yemen for Sheffield in 1958, took Naz to his first boxing lesson and always encouraged him in the ring career that would turn him into a millionaire. Mr Hamed, in his 70s and whose cause of death was not disclosed, ran a corner shop while bringing up four sons and three daughters. A family friend said: "Naz is totally devastated."

British boxing REALLY needs another Naz. Most exciting fighter ever. I know people who aren't even boxing fans and they loved watching this guy. Fucking phenomenal fighter. Pity his career ended with such a whimper.....he looked terrible in his last fight. I think the Barrera loss just killed his confidence. Yeah his hands were bad but alot of other fighters have overcame bad hand, Joe Calzaghe bring one. He just made so much money, I don't blame him for retiring when he did business wise, but he should have at least tried to avenge his loss to Barrera. That's why he'll never go down as a true great. He could have if he wanted to I'm sure but he made millions, still had his health, many others would've done the same.

I think he was also just getting older hamed was an athletic fighter so the second his speed dropped when he moved up in weight he started to struggle more, but you’re right tho, boxing needs a new naz, most entertaining fighter to ever do it

I watched all this first time round, an yet it's odd watching it again now with current boxing mentality and thinking the fight should have been stopped earlier. For me for sure after he sagged on the ropes for taht knock down he had nothing in his legs after the count. At that point he is only facing a big nasty KO.

Can’t believe Castro is a professional boxer with this performance. I guess everyone’s got their days.

I think those are the reasons that a bigot wouldn’t like him, but I think that the vast majority of people who disliked him was due to him being too cocky. Barrera thought him a valuable lesson in ring manners, and he never truly recovered from it. A humbling experience is needed for cocky fighters
