What a fight 🥊. Nicky’s punch rate is insane here! Two warriors - Yelland should be proud , he fought his heart out … just Nicky’s experience won it for him ( thought the scoring a bit close imo ). Another ‘Harvey Hadden belter’! Thanks for posting Dave - appreciated.

Thanks hugely for posting Dave. I was there that night for this. What a terrific battle this was - my favourite small hall fight and 2nd favourite fight I’ve seen live. What a honour to witness their non stop battle with guts and no shortage of skill from both , who fought like Mexicans which is why Nicky finished with a left body hook I guess! Fun fact - Andy Lewis was the smallest boxer active in Britain at the time - but his heart was as big as a car .. both of them in fact. Saw the Booth bros a few times at the Harvey Hadden stadium , as this was, 5 minutes drive from where they lived ! Such a shame Nicky could never conquer his demons as Jason ultimately did. Poor wee fella- the ring was his safest place it seemed. RIP Nicky - and thanks for the terrific fighting memories .. you won’t be forgotten.😔🥊

You knew from the 1st round with that new wide wobbly stance and the falling on the floortwice in the 2nd Honeyghan was totally shot after the Breland nightmare. After the Starling beating he came back looking rusty and without power verus Marin...but the speed movement skills and combinations were very much there and as the rounds went on his defence and reflexes sharpened. But it was clear the ban on hand jabs meant he could no longer punch with even half his former power. Punch after punch crashed on marin. The weight drain debace before the breland fight killed his legs and chin. He took a horrific frightning beating over 3 rounds in front of a heartless home crowd who turned on him and a sadistic referee and seemingly asleep mickey duff. That defeat finished him. A shame as he was only 29 aftee the marin win and there had to be hopes the starling beating was an off night. Its very rare you see such a power puncher lose his power and a boxer lose his reflexes, legs and chin all at same time. Ive never in 42 years of boxing seen a fighter become finished as quickly as honeyghan
