I am so glad the ladies got to try the food I sent! I would have sent a more authentic soup if not for dietary restrictions - most Maryland crab soup is made with a beef base. I can understand why the steamed shrimp recipe was skipped. If crabs are gross, then those are too lol. I promise that I sent a substantial amount of OLD BAY for that purpose. Thank you so much for trying everything! And of course I had to send sweets for Naseeba. 😂

That was my thought. Packages from the US to Pakistan can take weeks or even months to get to their destination. If the hush puppies didn't make it there in time, there's no way fresh crab would have. At least she tried to send the closest thing she could get. I doubt that the soup was inedible. I believe it was from a Maryland based company, at least. I just think the ladies let their imagination run wild because of what crabs look like and that completely tainted the taste test for them. There are certain foods that other people love and I know are very tasty, but I just can't bring myself to eat them because of what they look like. Snails come to mind. 😂 My husband loves escargot and thinks I'm a total wimp for not eating it. @@SherriLyle80s

Oh man Maryland is famous for our crab dishes 😋 I order about 2 bushels of fresh blue crabs a year for the family when they’re in season so we can get together…… mainly it’s a excuse to buy some delicious seafood. Usually order a bushel at a time of steamed blue crabs with some oldbay seasoning and the left overs we use to make crab soup or crab cakes. 🤤

Thank you, Natalie! It was lovely of you to think of the ladies and send them such a thoughtful gift and note. It was especially nice that you took the time to translate what you wrote into Urdu for them. I think it was the "idea" of crabs that kept them from enjoying the soup, more than the actual taste of the soup. The mind can be very powerful when it comes to things like that and there are certain foods that other people love that I just can't bring myself to try, for the same reason. I've been told by countless people that escargot is absolutely delicious, but I've never been able to get past the idea of eating snails. LOL My husband makes fun of me for being so wimpy, but I just can't do it. HaHa😅 It was clear that they thoroughly enjoyed the crackers, popcorn and candy, so 3 out of 4 is pretty good! Blessings to you and your family! 🕊️🙏

Don't feel bad, ladies. Maryland Crab Soup isn't for everyone. I wasn't raised here and didn't grow up w/it, so I think it's gross. The smell is pretty offputting. That was lovely of you to try it. You're good sports. I'm a picky eater and don't think I could be so polite. Natalie treated you well with the fischer's popcorn. Wish she would have sent you the old bay style. That's a taste of the shore that you could use to season fish, chicken or other things. I use it on roast potatoes.
