SVG has brought a new vocabulary of humility and respect to NASCAR that I haven't heard before. Pre-SVG I very rarely heard the words 'having fun' and 'much to learn' and mutual compliments. This adds a rich human-dimension to the sport.Well done all of you chaps. It is good global-promotion for NASCAR. Australia

Now if that humility would spill over to his fan boys. So many of them are outright obnoxious.

100%! In New Zealand we call it 'tall poppy syndrome' (poppies represent the ANZAC war effort, Australia and New Zealand Army Corp). Tall poppy syndrome is all about not being too big for your boots, never celebrating victory too much, and being humble to nth degree. To our detriment, most of the time.

Cool listening to 2 great drivers (SVG & Larson) talking about each other and saying how the other was so strong here and there and they were lacking. They are talking about the same spots. That's how pros race Alex Hill.

I absolutely love humility in racing. I think drivers forget we can see all their moves over and over again, and scrutinize. Being a bit confident with yourself can hurt you I think

It's amazing when you can get good side by side racing. I guess it's an advantage of both having experience in series where rubbing is definitely not racing so you learn to give room and understand when you can lean on a guy and when you probably shouldn't.

He explained that in Trackhouse the drivers had their own specific race celebrations in the team like Ross Chastain with the watermelon, even the pit crew have the football, someone suggested the rugby ball kick and he went with it. I think it's fine. A little bit of New Zealand and something a bit different that the crowd enjoy.
