Earth, having the laws of nature as evidence. Earth is a habitual planet with the proper gasses to sustain life. The universe is full of anomalies, and gasses that can kill or sustain life. A random selection, depending on the energy produced in the solar system. The solar system is a body of colliding energy moving in the universe, with a sun as its center. Drawing massive energy, feeding like an amoeba. The laws of nature, we are here to feed the planet, in return, feeding the sun until it becomes a supernova moving in the milky way that moves around in the universe, feeding the universe. Which is another body of energy.

Back in the mid-to-late 80s, I worked on the help desk for our companies computer system. All data was sent via telephone lines back then. One day, I had several users in southeastern US complain that they were not receiving their data. I had heard that there had been sun spots on the sun recently. I jokingly told the users that the problem was sun spots. Maybe I wasn't that far off.😅

This is why you should ALL learn how to build rudimentary faraday cages!!! It’s not hard and can save sensitive electronics and power generation units. Please educate yourself and learn this absolutely essential skill especially if you have 17 hours warning before a massive solar flare. Look online for instructions while you can. Even multiple alrernating layers of thick aluminum foil and thick plastic wrap can act as a formidable shielding from electromagnetic interference of almost all kinds.

With the weakening magnetosphere on Earth and the polar shift going on, I think the next big CME will almost certainly do colossal damage to life on Earth; but wouldn’t the earlier, much larger events as recorded in 774AD, and some other earlier such events also have possibly been witnessed, at least the day after the event when it arrived on Earth? Whatever, a nice and gentle, if timely nudge.

AD 774 was reckoned to be greater than the Carrington event, others preceded that one as well. the X-class flare of 12/13March 2023 was also reckoned to have been of greater magnitude, luckily for us it headed away from Earth and not toward it, otherwise we still wouldn’t be watching this today. The sunspot peak at the end of the last Gleissberg cycle was over 300 per day between 22-26 December 1957, leading to the setting up of NASA and the announcement of the somewhat cryptically named Apollo space programme. More recently, the Chinese have successfully landed on the dark side of the moon, to gather their own samples of solar originated tektite glass, just as the Apollo astronauts did. Many still don’t know why they did this.

It might be different now with so many copper power lines and grounds on every building. Can people upgrade their home grounds to keep damage from occuring or be minimized? Maybe a reason to keep copper lines aloft also. Still wouldnt be good. We do have some notice of the storm coming. If you hear all planes are grounded, be ready. You basically have to have some electronics, like auto parts and cell phones stored in a safe sheilded place. Its typically underground and grounded. Its a good reason to store water or protect surface water pristine drinking water sources.( Ive tried to get officials to do this with no sucess!) Natural gas lines are a potential danger if not sufficiently grounded. Nuke plants depending on or linked to gas lines for pump backup fuel supply could be an issue . The reason is that the earths entire ground area becomes electrified and if gas lines arent ready for that voltage, they could blow. Other fuel sources could spark also. Im talking a level beyond Carrington so its not likely -but unfortunatly, we dont know or have a way to predict yet. We need the sides to stop fighting and do some agreeing before something happens.

Nothing to worry about. First the solar storms peak every 11 years. It's not unusual. Then a solar storm doesn't have the effects many of the click bait stories claim. It can't do anything to electronic devices or power plants. It's not like lightning. It's a tiny voltage difference of a minute fraction of a volt per meter. So the only way something can be damaged is if it is connected to very very long cables. The only effect is on step up / down transformers that are connected to cables tens or hundreds of kilometers long. These are the electricity sub stations you may see - which convert very high voltages from long distance cables into the lower voltages for domestic use. Even then those cables also have to run in the air above ground where there is resistive ground rock because you need a voltage difference to build up between the cable and the ground. If the ground below the cable is conductive (e.g. wet sedimentary rocks) there won't be any voltage difference between the cable and the ground because the weak magnetic fields from the solar storm will build up exactly the same voltages in both cable and the ground. The damage is caused by voltage differences between the cable and the ground in the step up / down transformers. It turns out that only a few places are actually vulnerable. The 1989 Quebec powercut was possible because of the resistive ground rock below Quebec as well as its high altitude. But since then they have made the step up / down transformers much more resilient and that powercut wouldn't happen again with modern transformers. The only ones at risk are old models or a new model that is near the end of its operating life and about to be replaced anyway. They make the transformers triply redundant in case one of them fails, so that even if a few of them fail in a Carrington type event - it would be an expensive bit of kit to replace, but the customer is likely to not even notice. In the USA most of the grid companies now sign up to an insurance scheme which keeps a stockpile of road-mibile transformers - it's really meant for hurricane damage and such-liek so that they can be up and running quickly after a hurricane - but it would also work for solar storms an dmean that they coudl replace the damaged transformers and be up and running quickly in the rare case where all three are damaged or to get back to normal levels of triple redundancy. The electricity grid is very resilient, a bit like the internet, if there is a cable or sequence of cables available to get the electricity from A to B then they can reconfigure to use it instead of the one they usually use. Expense would be similar to a hurricane after a Carrington style event but most likely no powercuts or just a few localized in the most vulnerable places. The powergrid companies would know where is most vulnerable in their network also there are a few hours of warning of a solar storm after it passes the SOHO satellite between Earth and the Sun, so they would be able to respond to put their equipment into a safer operating mode before it hits and we have longer term projections of solar storms, though less accurate, of the order of days to a week or so. debunkingdoomsday.quora.com/What-would-the-effects-be-of-a-major-solar-storm-Short-term-local-power-cuts-for-hours-not-widespread-blackout-for-mo As for the flares themseslves we can't have a superflare. We can't have a superflare. For a short time a few years ago some astronomers thought superflares were possible after they spotted them in a survey of stars that resemble our sun, only some of those stars and they didn't know what made a difference between the ones with and without superflares. They never thought they were likely for our sun, because we'd have seen the signs of them in the moon rocks, if there had been any in the last 4.5 billion years. Something that hasn't happened for 4.5 billion years would have to be very rare. But they now know that our sun can't do them. They now understand why some stars have them and others don't, and ours is the wrong kind of star to ever have them. It is to do with how fast it spins and for a superflare the polar region has to spin faster than the equatorial region (the sun isn't solid so different parts of it can spin at different rates). For our sun, it spins too slowly and the polar regions spin more slowly than the equatorial regions and its magnetic field isn't strong enough. So it can't do them. debunkingdoomsday.quora.com/Can-superflares-happen-on-our-sun-observation-and-modeling-combined-says-no-only-bright-flares-equivalent-to-our-sun

If the historical Milankovich cycles had prevailed we would be slowly sinking into the next glacial period. Temperatures were in gradual decline up until the 1970s. The current warming - anthropogenic - is so strong it’s overcoming the natural cooling cycle. Tipping points are tipping. 😳🔥🫥
