Look at the whole before our very eyes, then upon further contemplation deduce that we will not be the only ones in existence, due to the fact the cosmos has creative spots dotted throughout its being, we being only one species out of an infinite number of many, likely with some lifeforms that differ greatly to bipeds like ourselves. Older parts of the cosmos will surely have greatly advanced beings both psychologically and technologically, and coming to grips with such knowledge will be an eye and mind opener for us.

Our sun is far too small to go Super Nova. It won't become a red giant for another 5 BILLION years.
