this was the saddest thing in the world. I couldn't stop crying even though its just a show/game but still. naruto's parents are probably the best parents in the world. they sacrificed themselves for him and said so many sweet things on there death bed.

Of which none that he remembered growing up. They were far from being the "best" parents considering that Minato chose to die and ruin Naruto's chance at a happy life just because he couldn't live without Kushina. Minato made his own son into a tool to be used and thrown away whenever people felt like it and Kushina did not even put up more of a fight to stop him. Kushina could have just sealed Kurama back inside of her whenever she wanted during this conversation and that would have been the end of it.

As someone who grew up watching the original Naruto with no way of watching Shippuden, this was heartbreaking. I always did wonder who Naruto’s parents were as a kid. So imagine me, someone watching Naruto as a kid for years, witnessing the story behind Naruto and Kurama as a teenager, finally getting the answers he always wanted. This utterly destroyed me, it made me sad that Naruto had to grow up without parents, but made me happy that he had his closest friends, it also made me grateful for my own parents. I love them with all my heart. Also once I finished this chapter, I was so broken that I stopped playing it for about 8 months.

Looks like Naruto and his mom have used the Chopped Onion Jutsu on all of us, watching this.

The saddest scene in the entire anime... wasn't even in the anime. It was right here, where Kushina, barely able to stand and amidst the shockwaves of battle, tries to get Naruto's toy. I cried so much.

My seven year old brother was watching me do this in the game, and he was BAWLING. I couldn't cry because I was laughing so hard at him.

Liza Soberano no it was love, he felt for her for years and it visibly tore him apart, but since she never sincerely returned the feelings, his feelings subsided (also because the writers decided fuck it ya know) honestly, I think the main reason naruto became mega obsessed with finding sasuke was because of sakura's once in a lifetime promise, but that was a story detail that died and was forgotten.

The story itself isn't what "got me", but seeing the actual Reaper (from the Reaper Death Seal Jutsu, 24:46 + 29:02 ) observe the situation with saddened eyes? That's what fuckin' got me. Like, you know shit's bad when DEATH ITSELF feels disheartened.

Yeah. He married someone who was never there for him like Minato was with Kushina, but at least he has a maid and cook now. Face the facts everyone Naruto x Hinata was a forced ship as being the writer's favorite. There "love" story doesn't even make since simply because there isn't one.
