Here's a quick project for beginners in 3D printing. For all you "fidgety" people out there who need to keep their hands busy! I threw my own twist on the fidget toy that has EDC enthusiasts intrigued. This was inspired by the design of Ninja Stars, known as Shurikens. Naruto would approve!
Maybe next time I could water jet / mill the design and hopefully get my NINJA SKILLS flowing! I've been thinking about creating a "gear" shaped ninja star. I'm really excited about this design! Perfect for everyday carry (EDC)

I like this, I wonder if you could use this "hand powered" thought process and apply it to some different weapons? I'm thinking about things that are traditionally curved, like karambits (bearings in the handle ring) or chakrim discs ( a kind of jig for throwing, a-la Tron). I know this isn't technically what you are thinking of, but these are just some ideas that employ bearings in interesting ways.

a tip i can give you is more weight on the sides equal a longer spin, and speed cream is good for a skateboard but what you are trying to do doesn't need the speed cream, and the speed cream is thick so it would actually slow down the bearing so the dryer the bearing is, the longer it will spin but the louder.

Would be cool for naruto cosplayers. They never really have or use the shurikens for cosplay, but the way this visually looks, especially when spinning, matches so good.

I get questions from people at my school all the time asking me what it is

I was checking out some 3d printers in my area and found a few articles containing info on how some 3d printers can release toxic chemicals from the printed samples. Before making a decision, may I ask the make and model of your printer as well as the precise filament material used? Also, can you recommend a good printer and material?

Esburrito wrong, these hand spinners do not work well with lube or grease. They need to be cleaned out completely with 91% isopropyl alcohol or mineral oil then blow dry with air compressor, perfectly clean of anything works best

I think some sort of extremely hot knife would be a cool idea, when you get stabbed with it you would also get burned. You could probably have a wire inside the blade keep the blade hot and you could probably store the battery in the handle.

Well maybe you could do that for a sword, or somthing else with a bigger handle. if you are creative you could probably be able to make it work with a lot of bladed weapons. i don't think the weight should be to much of a problem unless the battery is SUPER heavy, it would probably add more weight to the swords swings so it would cut really deep.
