if you attack on the same frame you tag, you'll tag out and your support will do their whole ground combo, applying pressure and allowing you to get in and apply even more pressure

Very false everyone below obviously doesn't understand if you tap the attack button on whatever console or system you use before making contact 3-4times then swap to another character. Called a shadow attack. An if you do another tech you can keep the combo going. Its practice. I play this everyday.

It's the very first version of the game to be released. The developers had secret inputs that could be performed. These secrets became the meta/tech of the competitive scene. It was difficult to perform because it required perfect timing of the button commands. They patched this "glitch" later on in the life span of the game. Tbh they could have kept it to allow a division in the community; pro players and casual players.

Not fit for tournaments? Then explain Melee, that game is only entertaining because of the glitches. In a tournament with cash prizes people are gonna do what they can to win at all cost. You can't fault him for playing the game at the highest level. It's either you adapt, or you fall behind.

That's like saying since X was the only person who knew how to wavedash, he cheated in the melee tournament. You do know the competitive community never could agree on what was considered legit tech or not thus forcing the devs to remove these features. I was all for it minus a few characters (madara, Naruto, gara) however the competitive community never tried teaching this to the masses, they kept most of this tech to themselves and their closed circles. Only making it worse for novice players to adapt
