    One of the main themes in Naruto, in my eyes, is that you can't gain without loss. That's why I think Naruto perhaps killing from time to time, or at least having intent to kill, is so brilliant, because it feeds into the complex idea that sometimes true pacifism doesn't work. Itachi is probably the best example of this in the whole series.

    In my humble opinion, Naruto is actually the best kind of pacifist- a pragmatic one. He doesn’t WANT anyone to die, he doesn’t WANT conflict; but if he interacts with an enemy and comes to the conclusion that they can’t be saved, or if many lives will be lost while he bangs his head against a brick wall, he will reluctantly set aside his own preferences to ensure the safety of everyone else. But not until he’s tried to get them to at least stop and hear him out. And he’ll keep working on them even as he begins to fight them. But if he can’t convince them to stop, then he will do what must be done to keep them from hurting anyone else. Pragmatic pacifism. This raises a big point: pure pacifism is a terrible idea, because other people will just take advantage of you. In their eyes, this peaceful guy is just weak fodder to be trampled on and controlled. A competent, intelligent pacifist knows this and knows that they still may need to fight or even kill to protect their peace, or they’ll just lose it. Violence is never their first choice, it’s their last resort; but it’s a tool in their toolbox to ensure they remain free to pursue peace, for use against people who won’t accept them.

He tried so hard with Obito because he still saw there was light inside of him, but Madara, he knew Madara was always going to be a vicious cycle of hatred so he knew he was going to have to get his hands dirty. Basically, if he thinks there's no hope for you, or you're going to severely injure someone he loves then he won't have any problem taking you out back like old yellr

    No. He's a hypocrite. The entire shinobi world was based off child soldiers and war. Kakashi killed thousands within the ANBU. Same with itachi. Their hypocritical dogma makes no sense in the world when good and evil is morally subjective. Nagato thinks Konoha was evil because it ransacked and pillaged and exploited his home and to be fair, he had every right to destroy Konoha in return. Konoha has done many terrible things but when Naruto hears about the victims's story, eg. Nagato and Sasuke, he throws a whiny temper tantrum on why they would choose revenge or talk them out of it, which is ridiculous because they're made out to be the villains. That isn't real. Kakashi didn't give any other people an option when he signed up for the ANBU and tallied a death toll of up to over thousands during service. Same with Minato. Their actions are completely at odds at what they're trying to accomplish. Konoha is corrupt and Naruto never addresses the root cause. Only the "villains", Madara, Obito, Sasuke, and Nagato, all directly addressed the problem, and Naruto's solution was to suck it up and accept it. Because like people on twitter, if you don't abide by the terrible system, or status quo, that has an opinion that directly goes against it, then you get cancelled. Or in the series, killed or talk no jutsu out of your opinion.

  • @curstdragon

    @curstdragon

    Жыл бұрын

    @Lappland Kun You say Naruto is a hypocrite, but give examples of characters that aren't Naruto, and don't share his philosophy, to make that point. Kakashi and Itatchi aren't trying to stamp out the root cause of conflict, they are trying to protect their home from the ravages of a world that had been broken for thousands of years before they were born. Neither of them even considered trying to reconstruct the corrupt systems of the villages and just accepted the constant violence as the way the world is. None of the villains you mentioned tried to address the root cause either, they figured they could just slaughter the corruption out of the world and wouldn't stop until everyone who had ever wronged them was dead and forgotten. None of the villains wanted to prevent hate based violence. They just wanted to monopolize it so that only the people that they hated died. Nagato killing thousands of innocent people indiscriminately wouldn't have prevented further war, it would have just taken one pice off the board and left the rest to it unless he was willing to slaughter all the civilians in every other village by destroying them completely as well. Even then, that would only maybe stop ninja based warfare and left the nation's full of non ninjas to kill each other the old fashioned way. Once he realized that, he would have been on Obito and Madara's wavelength of just murdering everyone on the planet so that their last act of hatred against the world would have at least been the last. Naruto was the only one in the show since Hashirama that tried to forgive and get other people to forgive if there was any chance of doing it without sacrificing himself and everyone around him in the process. He fought and even killed when an opponent had the power to kill him and everyone around him to protect the people he cared about but was the only one who would stop and talk when it wouldn't get everyone killed to try and reason with people instead of soaking in his hatred for the people that had wronged him and murdering them when they didn't have the power to fight back.

ISFJ often perceive things only on the surface level (even by sensor standards), are suckers for a “pretty face", and their neuro-psychology makes them the ideal narcissitic-codependent and pawn to the ESFJ (blind-loyalty, surface level perception, susceptibility to covert-narcissism). Lastly, ISFJ are notorious for impersonating other people's identities IRL and on the internet; while ESFJ-9W1 superficially appears like an ENFJ, they have different 'neurology' and psychology. And those are the on-screen murders, not counting "assist kills", white zetsus, bosses, or "leaving it to bleed out on the curb Batman-style". There is a lot more implied. Take the first anime openings depicting fights with bandits(?), the fact team 7 went through lots of missions before Sasuke went on a solo quest, the countless other missions during shippuden, the training with Jiraya taking a lot more time after and before the Rasengan arc, etc. The very fact Naruto single-minded and effectively not even flinch when delivering blows with intent to kill while immediately taking instances or defensive maneuvers to avoid counterattacks... that shows Naruto is battle-hardened. He've seen some sh*t. Or done it.

As far as I can remember, his second was Gaara, Though It's likely he didn't have the strength to do it, Naruto also swore to kill Gaara if that's what it took to save his friends. If sasuke hadn't showed up and told him that Sakura was safe, Naruto probably would have crunched Gaara's Throat between his Teeth. Then there's his fight with Orochimaru in Shippuden, I think you're buggin' if you think he wasn't trying to kill him. Orochimaru is just a freakin Cockroach. Point is, There have actually been quite a few times where Naruto either Explicitly said he was going to kill his opponent, or how he was attacking made it clear he was trying to end his opponent's life.

    Not gonna lie. The extra 100 episodes of Naruto after the Sasuke retrieval arc are some of my favorites. It's honestly the extra depth they attempt to throw at some of the other ninja in Naruto's class. It gave the village a bit fuller of a feel.

    I have not finished the episode yet, but I want to comment on the 6 paths of pain portion. Didn't Naruto know that the people he was fighting were puppets simply because Jaraiya's info helped express that? There was a whole thing of Naruto being needed to translate his mentor's writer's quirk that led them to say, 'the real one was not with them.' Implying that at that moment, it was deciphered that the wielder of the 6 paths may not have been one of the 6 paths at all (Nagato being the 7th path.)

    With the Superman analogy you made, you kinda explained the DC Injustice franchise in a nutshell. Only in this timeline Joker steals Lois Lane and fills the room with toxic gas so when Superman comes he sees Lois as Darkside and takes her up too space killing her. Superman Goes full Anti Criminals and Death on Site, and the Justice League split up into Two Teams, on Lead by Superman, and one Lead by Batman who thinks... Well the Batman way.

    I would love to see a video done on how pain/nagato was basically right all along. He wanted to become the threat that the whole world would fear to bring peace. Sasuke wanted a similar goal at the end of shippuden. And nauruto talk no jutsu them into saying this isn't true Fast forward to the boruto era and peace is basically fostered because all the nations are effectively scared of naruto and sasuke. And by extention the leaf. In the light novels shikamaru has to basically remind them that naruto is not the only force to be reckoned with as he shadow paralysis strangles every kage to send a message. Tldr. The world knows peace but its only because they are all scared of war and scared of the power of konoha, sasuke and naruto. Because nobody has anything that could stop them

    Didn’t Naruto get updates from Katsuyu about what was up with the 6 Paths of Pain? By the time Naruto returned to the Hidden Leaf to fight Pain, Jiraiya’s code had already been cracked- in fact, before Naruto left, he played a big role in helping them find the book Jiraiya used as the key to the code. He knew the phrase “the real one isn’t here”, I think even before he left to train with the toads. But even if that isn’t the case, Naruto is a soldier of the Hidden Leaf. We don’t usually fault soldiers for killing in defense of their country, which is the position Naruto was in here. The blame, if any, is usually passed up the chain of command in that situation, to whoever gave the order. Tsunade intended to bring Naruto back from Mount Myoboku to defeat Pain, so if we go off of intention then the blame for “killing” those bodies would largely rest with her, as the military commander who pitted Naruto against Pain. Danzo’s interference doesn’t really affect her intention.

    Here’s the thing… Naruto kills in combat & war scenarios, not so much when he’s just trying to eat some ramen. It’s like calling a veteran a murderer, maybe they are, but I’m not counting war kills that aren’t war crimes. Naruto is like that, he’s got kills because he’s a soldier in an army, but he’s not a war criminal… I think.

He just rather crush his enemies dreams, because to him, and many others in that world, crushing a person's dreams may as well be equivalent to death. Maybe not of the body, but of the spirit. I remind you, one of Luffy's most important memories to drive himself to be a pirate, literally included a mountain bandit getting shot dead by Lucky Roo.
