Oh yes we love that.. ha ha thank you so much great comment.
Makes me smile, too, AND, another tidbit, is Kentucky has lots of waterways, lakes, springs and forests. It has the Kentucky River, and is bordered on the North and West by the Ohio River. The county where I was born, has soil pushed in by the glacier during the Ice Age.. Now, I will watch MORE of the video! Love it!

Another great vlog Jackie & Michael .. or should we say Miss Jackie Geography teacher? That boat lift looked rather precarious.. glad you got your car back safely… your comparison between the old & the modern was also interesting.. as cooling towers at power stations are becoming history now .. very famous ones not far from me at Didcot Power Station have all now been demolished.. a visual point that you could see from the top of the Chiltern Hills at Stokenchurch has gone now .. another piece of our industries being consigned to history!
Another great video , Jackie and Michael. Dont talk to me about geougraphy , l got ungraded on a CSE exam when l was at school ... might be becauuse l ost my way to the exam room 😂😂😂

I enjoyed this latest video. I well remember the Sawley area. When we pased by we did a trip up and back on the dead end Erewash canal. Always fun to explore once but it was pretty much un-remarkable with plenty of rubbish about in some locks. Once at the end we moored for the night and took a wild bus ride across country to the Derby pottery where we purchased two blue coffee mugs that matched the colour of our then boat Zenith. I still have those two mugs purchased almost 20 years ago! A nice reminder of those pleasant days on the cut.

Hello both. A great video as usual, you are having a great time, I envy you. In the late 70’s two friends and I hire a pair of boats, one motored and a butty called Ant & Axe if my memory is right for us, and a dozen scouts. We were cruising from Braunston along the Grand Union for a week. We heard the “THUMP-THUMP” of a distant engine sounding very similar to the Ailsa Craig you met. Apparently, this was a Bolinder engine, I may be wrong again as my memory is not getting any better!

Another great vlog, I see you went by train to fetch the car, I thought you were going to keep one of the electric bikes to make it easier. Loved the piano recital, pity the piano was so out of tune.
@cruisingontheborder
11 ай бұрын
Hi John, yes on this occasion we had to use the train, often we leave the car for a number of weeks before we go and collect and it is many many miles away so trains make sense. The bikes are great for local trips, maybe shopping. Ah ah thanks for the comment about my piano playing, I would of played more but I am so out of practice. x
Oh boy now I’m really confused. Settled down to watch one more of your great vlogs and within a few minutes you’re playing the theme tune to another of my subscriptions. To make it even odder I’m wearing one of their T shirts. Theme tune used by The Hoof GP which I think is well worth watching. So now back to boating?

Maybe you could put more effort into your videos; like maps of where you are and the canals, and the history of the canals and locks you pass through?
