Narrow Band Weaving part 2: Warping the Loom

In this video I show you how to read a pattern, measure your yarn and warp your narrow band loom to prepare for weaving a Baltic strap. I am using cotton yarn in two colors, with a 31 thread rigid heddle. I go into great detail to explain all of the processes to make it easy for a total beginner to get started. Stay tuned for the next video on weaving, and if you haven't already, check out my video on Step 1: Getting Started here: • Narrow Band Weaving Pa...

I’m so grateful you have filmed this series! I’m starting some band weaving after doing rigid heddle weaving for several years, and for whatever reason I couldn’t wrap my head around how to thread for this kind of pickup technique. Balanced weave is just enough different, I guess, but now that I have watched you set up your design diagram and warp your heddle, I totally get where I went wrong. Thank you so much🥰

You are so welcome! That’s why I created this in depth simple series! I was trying to find out what I was doing wrong and it all seemed so confusing until I did it😀

If you need to hide the rest of the thread in the material, then the "loop lifting needle" will help you. There's a hook for darning women's tights. a hook with a hinged latch so as not to cling to the material. Very convenient.

Great. An interesting machine. I'll make my wife one too. There is a large one with pegs for working with planks. But for small jobs, this one will be more convenient. The children will be happy at the art school. Thank you. It would be great if you showed exactly what the machine looks like and what size it is. - Maxim - Russia = Saint Petersburg
