A senior British Army officer stated to the press several years ago the 'Harry doesn't have the aptitude to be an Apache helicopter pilot'. If it wasn't for the fact that he was a Royal family member, then he would never have been allowed to be an army officer. Several weeks after finishing his training at Sandhurst, it was in the newspapers that Harry turned up for work late and drunk. I once met the warrant officer who gave him a dressing down for this. He openly told me that he didn't like Harry at all. By contrast he told me that he liked William a lot and that he carried 'no Aires or graces' when ever he met him.

Sad to hear a man deciding to make money by destroying his family. How can anyone have any respect for him.

I totally agree, Harry lost a lot of sympathy with these statements even from people who are not supportive of the monarchy, because we live in very hard times where many people struggle to buy food, this book he wrote is not interesting or valuable to anyone.

Harry & Megan have achieved their goal. They will never want for money again. Doesn't matter if they have family, they can have THINGS. I personally hope they are sued for every single lie from every direction and left penniless. They deserve a serious humbling.

Harry and his wife have no scruples at all. She is incapable of getting embarrassed. He has developed armour almost as strong as hers. They will do whatever it takes to feather their nest which has proved to be a bit unreliable out there in CA where no one wants to speak to them much less see them.

I use to despise Camilla for what she and Charles did to Diana. Through the years I have forgiven them both because I can see how much they truly love each other and should have been allowed to marry in the first place...she stayed quiet and stuck with it for love. The same for Kate she stuck through because of her love for William. Meghan didn't love Harry enough to stick she insisted he change his life for her...Meghan loves Meghan and that's all I now despise Meghan for her selfishness. If she even loved him at all she would especially not want to ruin everything around him as well as the man he was...she has destroyed everything and it's nothing but lies... I'm american and don't understand all of this but I respect the institution and the tradition. I loved the queen and I think it's so embarrassing for her (Meghan) to claim she represents us. She is the opposite of my views on the family. Marlene Headley had NO RIGHT to feel offended by Lady Susan Hussey. From what I see of that woman, her own back story is VERY dubious, with some equally dubious connections. It's all there in the public domain. Charles and William should apologise to Lady Susan and reinstate her. Headley is a provocateur and in MY OPINION a plant by the Markle woman and if not that, certainly inspired by her toxic behaviour.

Superb, intelligent, balanced, informed debate. What a relief from the nonsense we usually have to listen to from media/politicians.

I personally [if I were King Charles] would require Harry to return to UK for "talks", be "collected" by Military Police at the airport, taken to the Tower of London, to reside awhile as traitor until well after the Coronation, and to face a lineup of psychiatrists for his behaviour. He is clearly very unwell, on top of his being none too bright and in the clutches of a very disturbed narcissist. He will invariably face divorce from her, and I think he is vaguely aware of coming divorce. He is under her "control", and I gather on dope. The monarchy may gain strength from this action.

As an American I can share that, anecdotally, the little support Harry and Meghan had here, has eroded. People are disgusted by Harry and his wife. Happy New Year to all!

I am Canadian and i think this man is brilliant. So intelligent and thoughtful. I can’t say whether I agree entirely with him or not as I am not British and certainly not a British historian. I don’t profess to know their entire situation. But from what I do know, i think he is absolutely correct and his opinions and observations are well studied and thought out. He’s also clearly well read and spoken. This is the third interview i have watch of his as it is interesting and he is so informative. I really empathize with King Charles and Prince William. Ugh - what a fiasco and such an unnecessary one at that. All the best to a prosperous future for the UK and the swift downfall of Putin.

Excellent interview. The interviewer was engaged and asked great & relevant questions. It did not seem rushed, stayed on topic and respectful. Refreshing.

And I certainly didn’t like her at all for these decades, maybe even hated her. I was a total Diana fan as a little girl, grew up with William and Harry somewhat, William and I are same age. But Camilla grew on me, I saw how humble she approached the whole thing for years, and at some point at her wedding I had to change my opinion about her after seeing how well she got along with the boys. Simon's comments regarding Harry's behaviour as being cheap, petty and vulgar are spot on. His behaviour would fit in better with being a riding instructor than a member of the Royal Family. No offence to riding instructors. But it must be said that no member of the Royal Family has behaved in such an appalling way and shown such a complete lack of judgement or common decency.

Also there is a danger to Harry ..it just takes one unbalanced and angry person to try and take matters into their own hands …from that viewpoint alone it would be wise for him to stay away. I imagine he may be battling with his fear and his indignation about not being excluded and possibly his desire for an apology from his family and his wanting his family back ..a very very confused man. It was race-baiting, pure and simple. What she was wearing did not resemble any genuine African tribal wear and her name is made up from two different tribes. Her real name is Marlene and her "charity" is now being looked into.

This is by far the best interview I've listened to on the Harry situation, actually the whole interview, fair, mature, informed and professional. Just to add... Even if there is 'some' truth in what Harry is saying "What Susie says of Sally says more of Susie than Sally"

I served with Charles in the Navy. He was a good hand. We used to call him the King back then. He was the Gunnery Officer and on his cabin door was a picture of an Orangutan. He had some good times in the Windies.

As an American I must say I’ve gained so much respect for the Royal Family. I like the way they are handling this and the way they’re carrying themselves. I have called Harry that many times since the Optah interview and the Netflix series -- this book definitely will cement that word in many people’s minds when it comes to Harry . A century or two ago, he would have been locked in the Tower of London, perhaps even beheaded for treason.

I've been using it a great deal lately. Should a traitor be permitted to swear an oath of fealty to the King if Harry does attend the Coronation?

The country's resources would be much healthier if our government properly collected taxes from the wealthiest, stopped loopholes, were tougher on offshore accounts, and sorted out the debacle of the ppe scandal. Then there would be more to go around. Social homes should be of a much better standard.

For some of us of a certain age in the UK we struggle to reconcile what he is saying. There is no doubt his mum was pursued relentlessly by the paparazzi. Harry was certainly criticised in the media for his numerous indiscretions however most people in the UK don’t recognise that their experience is anything like his mothers. However I think that’s what they are trying to project. Harry comes over as being ill. None of us recognise him since he met his wife. His press was excellent before she came on the scene though he tries now to say different. Now he seems unhappy I’ve seen videos with his father brother and sister in law where he was happy and clearly had a good relationship with them and said that There are numerous videos of him saying the polar opposite of what he now says. I despair of him. Meghan has been a terrible influence on him .

How refreshing to hear someone from the right of British politics express opinions, which are so considered, pragmatic and reasonable. As someone on the left, I may disagree with much of what he said but at least he has thought seriously about what he thinks is best for our country. Among today's self-serving, corrupt Tories - and especially since Johnson's 2019 purge of Tory talent - this has become a rare thing. Heffer expressed genuine conservative philosophy, which the Conservative Party themselves have abandoned in recent years.

Steven Edginton is a fantastic interviewer and I believe we will be seeing a lot more of him - I have watched many interviews by him> i find him very likeable, professional, thoughtful and humble - as he never interrupts his guests or tries to one-up them (too many interviewers these days believe they know more about everything than their guests do.) Keep up the good work Steven.

Charles walked her down the aisle and she slapped him in the face simply because her feelings were hurt. Wow.

There are so many instances where we saw them all genuinely laughing and joking around. I believe Meghan has picked at his insecurities and made him far more unstable than he ever was before.

I found it interesting that the problems in Britain are very similar to the problems in the U S. I had wondered about this in my thinking of other countries. Wonderful interview. Very interesting questions and very informative answers.

Harry has become a modern day Judas: Money over family, country, military service a complete lack of an ethical and moral compass. His depth of betrayal is staggering. At one point Harry says; I love my brother deeply” and “none of what I have written is intended to hurt my family” WHAT? That is the exact intent or he would have managed this privately with a therapist. Harry’s inability to comprehend or “act” as though he is unaware that behavior and words have serious consequences is astounding. The disconnect or “acting” as though there is a disconnect says it all. ENOUGH! Harry needs to stop the endless public litany of grievances over his lifetime and work with a therapist who can address his trauma and grief….if Harry actually wants help. Either that or he will be one very embittered human being and those closest to him will suffer the consequences. This is getting very old -- the public can not heal him and frankly, Harry is becoming a bore. Get into therapy Harry and leave the public out of it. Enough!

I would also like to say that Steve Edginton is an excellent young interviewer. The Family did not let him be a Part Time Royal with a massive income from his fathers personal purse and told him go ahead and do your worst. I truly believe this. After everything Prince Charles and Camilla have been through with the media over the years - He is more than capable of Being an Amazing King. I had long enjoyed Simon Heffer's writing in the DT and, as a magazine editor, once commissioned a piece from him -- sight unseen, as it were. It was a pleasure actually to see and hear him for the first time, especially since I welcomed very nearly everything he said -- even on the subject of the (crosses self) NHS. And for the record: Every American I know, including myself, is in full -- indeed, emphatic -- accord with his reflections on Prince Harry/Meghan Markle and the new King and Queen Consort. A splendid interview and civilized three-quarters of an hour. Thanks!

Great interview. Calm and considered. As a Kiwi, how Harry and Meghan are behaving has made me more supportive of Britain and the Royal family. Feeling deeply for everyone, especially the family who are now being pestered by the press for comments on Harry's vacuous work of fiction. And agree regarding Lady Hussey. That woman targeted her. A woman who is dishonest, a Markle fan and, by the looks, a fraudster if the investigation proves it. We have a Russian friend who's been here for 10 years. He used to do computer stuff for a company that did things for the Russian military. Before the war in Ukraine began, he received "Oh, come home for a paid holiday!" type email. He ignored it. He received that from the Russian embassy here. Now? He's receiving emails demanding he return home to fight. He's ignoring those too. He genuinely feels that due to his past work there, if he went back, he'd "disappear". That is frightening.

A very bad dose of food poisoning is a good description of Mr Markle’s continuing appearances!

What the Hateful Hackles don't realise is: RESPECT is not a given..it has to be EARNED! Any that they had before they have totally poured down the cesspit they live in!

Harry really is doing much the same as his great uncle did in 1936 . Edward VIII or David as he was known, had been unhappy with his role for years and and poured out his feelings in letters to his mistress, Freda Dudley Ward. He was so childish and immature and constantly begged for attention and reassurance from her. But he hated his role as a member of the royal family. After his abdication he was a thorn in the side of the family, constantly complaining to his brother, now King George VI, so much so that the King stopped taking his calls. we had a lucky escape from him and it would seem, Harry too.

I live in South Africa and I ask people all the time where they are from. I have struck up wonderful exchanges. lady hussey was trying to engage with Marlene from Hackney whic is her real name.I am never vilified for being interested in other people. My daughter who is black also asks the same questions to get a conversation going!

I'm from the US and I think Harry and Meghan are really disgusting people. I can't believe anyone would do this to their own family. All I see is a money grab from those two. I feel sorry for Charles having such a horrible person for a son. William has shone nothing but grace and dignity and it shows who he really is. I pray these attacks might end up soon. It's just so sad.
