Narcissist Stalks Your Dreams, Nightmares

The narcissist’s shared fantasy is a form of lucid dreaming, it is his lucid dream and you are just a character in it, manipulated according to a pre-ordained script.
The narcissist incorporates you into the shared fantasy by entraining you and this process triggers introjects and repressed memories.

I dont remember my dreams from the years i was with the narcissist, but what i distinctively remember is that after getting involved with him, i havent had one good sleep, literally none, i was exhausted every second of every day. I knew something wasnt right and i could tell it started after meeting him, before i never had any issues with sleep or fatigue. But i gaslighted myself into thinking well thats just how it is after 30 .. I left almost half a year ago and i still feel exhausted all the time. But i’m kicking myself a lot for being so stupid and making a lot of bad choices during that time.

This almost mirrors my situation 3 or 4 years ago. Apart from remembering the dreams during the relationship phase, I've always dreamed since I can remember. Don't keep beating yourself up by feeling stupid or naive. because stress will exasperate you feeling exhausted all the time. We have evolved and progressed by making good And bad personal choices in life for a very long time. These negative thoughts will diminish over time, I promise you. 👍✌️🩷

I was in a narcissistic relationship for 19 years but I've been out of that for 5 years and I'm still having nightmares with my ex prominently dominating them. They're upsetting and unnerving. This has helped me understand why this is happening. Thankyou ❤

The title of this video completely shook me, as I had a dream/nightmare last night of my ex narc where I endured a 2nd narcissistic discard (in the dream). Like the actual one I endured in 2021, she was brutal and cruel and harsh and showed me no quarter. In the dream I realised I was dreaming and that I'd gone through this before. It took me nearly 2 years to recover from the shock that someone so beautiful could become so ugly, where my dignity and well-being wasn't even a blip on her radar. As soon as I woke up I entered the details into my journal and I've been reading it over and over throughout the day. Seeing her face in the dream, so heartless and cold, just took me back to the real discard of 2021. I truly never thought a person could be so cruel and awful. And even though she is (mostly) out of my life, I still have to deal with her in my dreams. Love and strength to all who are dealing with any kind of narcissistic abuse

I had that exact same exact same experience. Gorgeous & after years, suddenly becoming unshakably cruel. Only, we have a kid together so, I havnt gotten the freedom/space from her to heal properly.

I've had dreams/nightmares that have been warnings to me and have manifested in waking life! These were all about the narcissists. I can't make this stuff up. Mark and avoid these people so you can have peace in your life.

The first person to ever introduce me about lucid dreams as a concept turned out to be my narc. How funny... She was a true master at creating fantasy as she would so expertly and articulately pull wool right over my gullible eyes without me noticing anything

I would have betrayal dreams of my narcissistic husband cheating on me and not caring one bit. When I shared these dreams in the morning, he would say one of 2 things: 1) I would NEVER do that to you. Or 2) Oh, was I the bad guy AGAIN? Fast forward through 30 years of marriage, my nightmares have become a reality. . . even the feelings I felt when I would wake up from those nightmares.

I’ve had two dreams in the last week where I was trying to reach out to her. The first dream she said “I’ve just gotten over you, why are you doing this?”, and the second she couldn’t be with me because she’d found someone new. I guess part of me is still longing for her. To be honest, I still can’t quite believe I actually broke up with her, 5 months later. I also dreamt two days ago about a girl I was super into before the narc relationship. This was my first ever dream of her and we were chatting on insta before hooking up. She hasn’t been active on instagram for a few months, but today and out of nowhere she looked at a story I posted! Crazy. … I’m gonna focus on that :)

I've had lucid dreams all my life after growing up in a crazy abusive narcissistic household. I continued on and got myself involved in one narcissistic relationship after another and always had betrayal nightmares with them cheating on me. I've had numerous dreams of physical graphic violence after narcissistic relationships ended with colour, sound, and physical sensations. My last 4yr narcissistic relationship right in the middle of the consistent devaluing and discard I was sleeping/dreaming in my ex's bed he was physically in the kitchen, I then saw a mirage of him leaning against the bedroom wall looking at me it was like he was saying to me "Well aren't you going to wake up out of nightmare and leave him?" I woke up like a shot his mirage had gone and my ex was still in the kitchen.

The going through the “narrative” hit home. Thankyou for adding clarity on this often murky topic. I have one narrative I dream of most nights as my narc was my identical twin and I have only in the last few years become an individual. Very, very complex yet dreams give me insight. As always, brilliant - thank-you Vaknin

Thank you prof. Vaknin - i have to say good or bad being in the lucid dream was by far the craziest experience which has ever happened to me and I am using it for self analysis, self development and reinterpretation of myself and world around - i am grateful not angry as it gave me knowledge I never knew I missed 😂 mostly about myself as I don’t consider myself a victim - I don’t believe in a random choice and I accept my role in the whole experiences. Fascinating was to experience a memory loss, draining feeling, somatic disorders and many more - understanding the mechanism and reasons made me triple strong - My husband who passed away said strongest people are people who don’t waste time on accepting and move towards actions - i am listening to his advice! And trying to use it not to dwell on it. Your videos are extremely helpful! Thank you.

He divorced me a year ago and I still experience dreams that make me suffer so much. Is the feeling of losing him, of him being with someone else that induces a very acutely suffering in me while dreaming. Just woke up from such dream, I was suffering terribly…screaming, crying and also being very furious and frustrated that our story ended…

Whoa! uh-oh! So I need to watch a lot of light-hearted comedy for a WHILE? (to replace that muck in my subconscious mind?) or how else can I get that OUT of my subconscious mind? I left my narc a long time ago, but now I have to deal with my step-dad (psycho-narc) because my mom is still with him and now she has gone totally insane and can't take care of herself any more. He won't help her of course so I am stuck for a while in this mess, and yes he does "go after me" in many different ways, constantly! I have been telling my peeps that he haunts me even when I'm not over there (helping my mom). I am feeling the ctsd . I'm not sure what to do or not do at this point!

I've watched most of your videos and can't remember that topic in connection to sleep. Does this have the same effect as on normal people or is it different because of the brain abnormity? I had a dream just before Christmas. I saw my narcissist ex-wife and she was smiling. I walked closer to her. She then pointed forward and down at something. I walked closer then saw what she was pointing at. It was our son in a baby blue suit laying in a casket. I literally jumped out of bed scared but felt nothing but love for him and her. So much that I became obsessed with reuniting with her in love.. I tried contacting her but she ignored me. After a month of luvi²bg with a dream ego I finally came to my senses. We've been divorced for 22 years. Her body count is close to 50. Im done with her forever.
