For real the most accurate scene in the film: Napoleon’s takeover was a very confusing affair, where the majority of people weren’t sure what exactly was happening, with many Deputies seeing it as a usurpation of power and soldiers seeing it as a denial of constitutional rights. By the time they realized a Coup had taken place, it was a fait accompli, as Napoleon possessed the most important tool of power: the loyalty of the army

Yeah wouldn't call it accurate as there is an attempt at potraying the matter comedically and the director clearly despises Napoleon as a historical figure. There are layouts of the building that the Council of 500 and Council of Elders were held in and it is noted that Napoleon was dragged out of the room before his brother was. His brother was subsequently only escorted out by grenadiers after Napoleon was in the courtyard to compose himself after barely getting out himself. There is also a failure to show that Murat was the one that lead the grenadiers back in to "dissolve" the council. It's not really an accurate potrayal and just seems to display Napoleon as some idiot that decided running in alone was a good idea even though he was accompanied by grenadiers during most of this even if in small numbers. The most accurate thing about this scene is merely the scene where his brother pointed a saber at his heart and said the famous lines. Even that is wrongly portrayed to a certain extent, as the real reason why Bonaparte's brother did it was to convince the Legislative guard that was there to protect the legislative bodies were skeptical to allow the grenadiers outside to enter. There's a very good documentary by Epic History TV that portrays and explains this better and in more detail than the movie can and probably does it more honestly.

@@noobsowhat5744 Well when he meant by “most accurate”, he’s saying this is the only scene in the movie that actually tries to work with the history it’s supposed to depict. Of course it’s not accurate by a long shot, but in comparison to the rest of this pathetic excuse of a “historical epic”, yes this was the most “Accurate” scene in the whole movie.

Where the film truly shines are in its recreation of off-battlefield historical events, such as the Coup of 18-19 Brumaire, and the Coronation of Napoleon! The battle scenes are impressively staged, but also offer the film’s major inaccuracies.

@fotosight9710 the scene accurately depicted the situations of the coup though missing many details. unlike austerlitz scene where it doesn't represent any famous part of the battle at all. (and the costume design is actually more accurate than most movies since french still wore bicorne in 1805 in most movies they would be wearing shako

That’s the thing this movie completely ignores. Revolutionary France was very much a chaotic state of political corruption and the people of France were bearing the burden of numerous incompetent and corrupt bodies of government. Many saw Napoleon as the solution and he did restore political structure and domestic tranquility to France with effective centralized governance. Not saying Napoleon was a saint, but he really did bring France out of the bloody stages of its revolution.
