He would have been one of the best peace time leaders ever if the European coalitions didnt try to overthrow him , even before he became the leader, the European powers were trying to restore the French King. --He instituted massive social and economic reforms, balanced the economy between agrarian and industrial out puts, --Instituted fair trials of citizens before a jury of their peers, promoted people based on the abilities instead of their lineage. --Revamped and updated much of the countries infrastructure. Updated the water system for cities so the citizens had more water and cleaner water, Updated the roads and sewers. ---Passed many laws that are still being used in multiple countries still today. --He updated the way the medical professions functioned and reformed the hospitals, promoted vaccinations --Reconstructed the education system --But he wasnt left alone, the European powers never relented and he basicaly stayed in power for 13 years as the under dog, against impossible odds and 7 different coalitions formed to restore the French monarchy
