I just saw a comment saying that he died in his bed and not in this scene. So in the scene you all just saw, Napoleon just collapses. He doesn’t die. Then, later on his bed, he died. (There was not actual scene of him dying in the film.)

He had two autopsies (both disagreed with each other) you can read any book about Napoleon to know that his death was long and nasty. With french and english doctors attending. His last words were (reportedly) " Army....head of the army...Jos ephine". If you need sources, I am sure Wikipedia has them all. This film is by far one of the most historically accurate films surrounding a historical figure. Witness accounts state that they did indeed discover Napoleon hunched over at a small table overlooking the ocean. Wellington himself remarked after hearing the news "Give me liberty or give me death." Cool moment.

Napoleon was obviously shot and killed by a British sniper using a silenced rifle, that's why you see him slump over. It's the same soldier that wanted to shoot him across the battlefield at Waterloo that did it. Historians have verified it, thank god Ridley Scott set the record straight.

The film just showed him collapsing on the table maybe for the fact that it is clearly symbolizing that his death is about to come and how did you know that he’s dead after he collapses? Didn’t he maybe was brought to bed woke up and then he dies at his bed? Y’all acting like it said that he died outside his home.

Personally, I don't understand the urgency to hate over Ridley Scott's Napoleon just because it takes its own liberties while narrating its story.

Well sell it as an MCU movie god-damn it. People waited the movie because Kubrick didn't make his project about Napoleon, and Ridley Sold it not like "Ridley Scott's fictional Napoleon" but like a biography. People with little respect for history and culture can say what you say; it's not a Grimm story, it impact people knowledge. Waterloo which is a sovietic movie did better... it's not gladiator or alien... Ridley and his writers were lazy and full of stereotype they learned as Brits. They could invent dialogue or scenes, but this is just an MCU character from start to finish for dumb minds, Napoleon was from a Bourgeoisie Freemason family... he was not a "gangster" with no manner like Ridley like to say.

Well it sucked purely as entertainment too. And who are you to tell us what the purpose of a whole genre of art is? It's like saying the purpose of music is just to entertain, that's stupid. How vacuous does your idea of film have to be? It doesn't have one single purpose, a film maker sets the purpose for his film, and the purpose the maker of this one set was to peddle an asinine goof on history as some kind of profound biopic. Yes, some films are made purely to make money and mindlessly entertain: they usually suck, like this one.

The reason why many are upset about this movie is because Ridley Scott sold us the idea that this was going to be the an epical biopic from start to finish. Also... who the hell are you to tell people who to feel/think about a movie that obviously a blatant cash grab?!

every single line in the napoleon movie made in 1927 were actually said by him, some of them even had the source written in the corner, this was almost 100 years ago and they already made something better than this bullcrap, there's no excuses.

Although I admire Napolean, his loyalty to France. He is no different than any other dictator who wanted power. He changed the world, only few are able to do that. However, blood was spilled. In the ambitions of the power hungry ''leaders'' I wonder how many human lives were lost. Because we (common people) are sheep, cannon fodder and just an instrument. For the rich and powerful to gain their goal. No one learns from history; the war will continue until the final Trumpets are sounded. Until Judgement Day.

Coalition and Brits made the war, not Napoleon, they were against the revolution... Even Ridley didn't hide that fact... until the end, where British "SAVE THE WORLD" from what they create... I swear Anglo-Saxons. And you can't imagine what was before this guy, even if he took the power... Guillotine was running like crazy and instability.

This movie was awesome. Haters cry more. If you want accuracy go watch a documentary or something. I don't want to watch a documentary on the big screen, I want to watch entertaining movies.

lol the one thing they got accurate was the statistics. Dude participated in bloodbaths. And even still they left out Napoleon’s bloodiest battle; Leipzig with 100,000+ dead

A terrible and disappointing film for such a titan of history. Completely inaccurate and whatever was accurate was exaggerated and based most on the British caricatures of Napoleon and not actual written accounts of Napoleon.

@@memergas740 guess what Over 150,000 pieces of literature have been written about Napoleon and his life. And endless amount of eyewitness accounts have been documented so yeah people were there on St Helena when he died in 1821. It’s not an inaccurate scene but a completely made up scene. There’s a book called “Napoleon for dummies” I suggested you start with that book.
