He has mastered his own biomechanics. It makes this win so much better to see Inoue face a bit of adversity. It proves his Grit & composure. Alongside high level fight IQ & adaptability. This one meant a lot to the people of Japan. For him to face that moment in the 1st rnd and not get wavered is beyond impressive. We just saw Devin Haney face adversity for example and he was Not able to handle it or find any tools or tactics to overcome it. This just shows how uniquely talented Inoue is. Can't wait to continue to see where his future goes from here.

Legendary Manny PAC did the impossible with his 5.5 foot height from 108 to 154, and people are just too crazy to push INOUE to move up. Most boxers including American boxers only move up 1-3 weight divisions only. For example, Tank has been fighting at 130/135 for years, Crawford from 140-147 for years, Loma 130-135 for years, etc. Why hating and pushing a small fighter to move up to fight much bigger guys? All you wanted to do is to see him lose. Come on, guys especially haters!

I'd say you're half right. Major difference although inoue may be technically even better than the former goat... manny was naturally a bigger guy in terms of build and inoue looked much more comfortable at the lower weights that Pacquiao. I think inoue is a prodigy and could go down as one of the greatest ever but I dont think his frame will be able to take hits the same above 130

Best examples are Pacman and Floyd. Pacman moved to 147 at 31. He finished his career there 9-10 years later. Floyd moved to 147 at 28 and he finished his career there 12 years later. Inoue just moved to 122 at 31, and if he was to fight until he is 40, NOBODY could criticize him to stay at 122 and only venture to 126 for 1 or 2 fights. ;)

  • @cacogenicist

A lot of what looks like flaws with Inoue is completely intentional stuff from him. Inoue is so hell bent on the KO, and is so used to guys being highly defensive, shelled up, that he's constantly doing stuff to bait his opponents and get them to open up. He goes so far as to fake being gassed, and he'll even eat shots to give guys a false sense of confidence. Seriously. Go back through his fights. He did some of this stuff with Fulton, in both the rounds that Scooter _might_ have won. Against bigger guys, if Inoue could get his head around not _having_ to knock guys out, unless it's just there, he could be a hell of slick boxer, and I think could out-point significantly bigger fighters. If he focused that athleticism and fast twitch on defense. I don't know if he's willing to fight that way. He has every tool to do it though -- and would need to, if there's a big money fight at, say, 130, at some point. But man, bringing up his flaws is nitpicky. Dude is 2 division undisputed, frickin started at 108. He's in a small group of elite fighters in the last 50 years. Very small.

Yeah people who haven’t watched enough of Inoue don’t notice it. It’s like when he’ll often deliberately drop one hand when he throws a punch to get more leverage- he can do that because his awareness is so perfect that he knows exactly what punch is coming back at him from every position at all times and he has the reflexes and focus to react at the last instant if need be. That awareness is also why he’s the best counter puncher in the business. Nobody else in boxing is able to perform this technique as flawlessly and consistently as Inoue is able to, and you can see why when you watch his sparring clips cause it’s one of the main things he practices. To be honest Inoue has zero flaws as a fighter and he’s the only fighter in boxing who I can say that about. Crawford comes close but his offensive skillset doesn’t even come close to rivalling Inoues. Also Crawford is not great at forcing the action fighting on the front foot. Usyk comes close too but his inside fighting is lacking

Inoue is a true student of the science of boxing; he needed that first round knock down embarrassment to motivate him to raise his game to the next level just as the broken orbital bone did in the first Donaire fight. I can’t wait to see how much better Inoue going to be in his next fight in September.

Out of all the masterful skills Inoue holds, I think his strongest point is how quick he studies his opponents during the fight. If you look at his fights, there are turning points to his matches; those turning points is when he has his opponent all figured out. This is why I still think Tapales was a tougher fight for Inoue as Tapales' unpredictable style left Inoue no choice but to push and stop him without knowing what would come; in other words, a risk to take.

One of Inoue's coaches apparently said after the match that Inoue's also been practicing and simulating what to do when and right after he's knocked down, including waiting until count 8 to get up even if he's not that hurt. Regarding Bud, if he starts fighting more than once a year and winning those matches, there would be much less argument about whether he or Inoue's pfp#1. Cheers from Japan

His power is phenomenal, he has that gift that Beterbiev has, looks like that punch only travelled 6 inches but it’s either stuns or knocks people out. Its crazy. Inoue has the complete package as a fighter. Tank admitted that in one of his recent interview. The monster can fight in multiple different styles. Has all the skillsets. But Porter made a great analysis about Inoue's mobility. The small adjustment could show us an even more explosive Inoue is wild. The monster not done evolving and for us boxing fans, we are truly blessed to have Inoue in our generation.

Crawford is super good but that’s only for the intelligent boxer’s eyes. Crawford is not the explosive type where you would bet it won’t go to decision. Inoue is a star bc he’s like a Mike Tyson. You know you’ll get your money worth every fight. It’s not going to a decision. Don’t matter who he fights. So for the fans, Crawford is not entertaining. Hence why he had been underrated for so long.

The reason why Naoya was knocked down for the first time in his life by Neri's left hook in the 1st round of the match between Naoya and Neri was because Naoya was confident of defeating Neri, helped by the atmosphere of the venue, and tried to be a bit forceful in order to show off the difference in ability. I got close and tried to punch him, but he caught me! After I was knocked down, I calmed down and did not stand up right away, just like I usually do when I am knocked down, but instead waited for the 8 count to recover and then stood back up to win back the points, which is why I won! Also, after the round was over, he returned to his corner and stared at his down shot projected on a large screen diagonally above the ring, checking the trajectory of Neri's left hook. He knocked down Neri in the 2nd round and regained the point, and then dodged Neri's punches and took the initiative. He kept provoking the 4th round, telling him that he had given up on your punches and that he should try to land them if he could, and in the 5th and 6th rounds. He was knocked down and won by TKO! When it was over, it was a complete victory!😊

This fight the only thing new iv seen in Inoue is he can adapt as a thinker. Nery was throwing ko bomb hook left and right after Inoue jab Or in middle of Inoue combo but Inoue Would stop and jump back and continue . Nery plan this to get lucky abd catch Inoue flush as he open then. Inoue learn to watchout between his punches be in defense as he throws , then being track minded offense and get caught.

Inoues making so much noise at such light weight classes alone is a biggg plus for him being pound for pound. That being said I still feel he’s overlooked some due to fighting in Japan where many North Americans unfortunately can’t see him and in boxing North American fans seem to tilt the scales.

Don't think the guy hates anything more than going all 12 rounds with guys he doesn't think is on his level, Donaire is the only exception. It was a bad idea to be that reckless in round 1 against Nery, a guy with 27 KOs in 35 fights though.

Shawn Porter, please explain why a guy like Inoue, a 122lb fighter, that can fill up a 55k seat arena in Japan, needs to come to America to fight US Fighter's? Why? What US Fighter below 130lbs ever got that kind of support in the US? American boxing fans don't even support their own Fighter's, so why would you think Inoue coming to America is some great benefit to him? What American fighter at 122 or 126 has a fan base anywhere near what Inoue has at home? Hell, what American or PBC fighter at any weight can draw like that? Point being, there is ZERO benefit to Inoue coming to America to fight any of these Fighter's. The guy is a national hero with a hall of fame resume and there is nothing on American soil that is going to push his career. Truth be told, Inoue would be better off going to the UK or Saudi over the US. You need to stop promoting that crap organization that I told your dad to pull you out of prior to your fight with Thurman cuz I said they'd rob your ass and sure enough I was right. Yet here we are....geez
