Naomi McPherson of MUNA Song Breakdown & Writing Process - "One That Got Away" ft. KORG Nautilus

Музыка

Patches, presets, process, & more, in this exclusive interview, we talk with Naomi McPherson, keyboard player in MUNA to dive deep into how Naomi incorporates the KORG Nautilus into MUNA's on-stage performances & in-studio recordings, with a particular focus on their hit single "One That Got Away." 🎶
Did you know that half of the synth sounds in "One That Got Away," Naomi found directly on Nautilus? For Naomi, crafting "One That Got Away" was a process of exploration. They'd loop the track, tweak specific patches, and harness the Nautilus's arpeggiator to shape the sounds that resonated with the band's vision. "VogueM1 keys" "Thriller Chords," "Cars Lead," and "Evermore Pad" to name a few are just a taste of the '80s funk and pop-inspired sounds used on Nautilus that permeate the song's DNA. Naomi gravitated towards punchy bass and mouthy bass sounds that helped bring depth to the song. These tones are skillfully scattered throughout the track and brought to life in their electrifying live performances. 🎤 The KORG Nautilus didn't just find a home in their studio; it became an integral part of their live rig, igniting sparks of inspiration for new music. MUNA has dedicated themselves tirelessly to their craft, rising through the ranks with unwavering dedication and unbridled creativity. Naomi takes a moment to reflect on their journey, their growth as a band, and the incredible energy they pour into every single performance, whether it's a massive stadium or an intimate club. One thing is guaranteed: MUNA's dedication to their fans shines through, and every show is a true spectacle of passion and artistry.

A lot of talking and then when he finally plays something the demo honestly doesn’t sound like much. No idea what the capabilities are. Just an old school rompler?
