2000smodels Nicole said “when you and I modeled for Versace” which is what set Naomi off because they did not have the same relationship to Gianni. Naomi and Gianni were like family outside of the industry because Gianni greatly admired Naomi’s skill and power as a model. That’s why Nicole can not compare herself to Naomi and that’s why her career did not last as long as Naomi’s, who is STILL walking for Versace decades later and is constantly being honored as one of the original supermodels. That’s what Naomi’s rant is about.

Can I draw attention to the fact that Nicole never even met Gianni. He was murdered in 1997. Nicole DIDN'T EVEN START MODELLING UNTIL 2002! She may have modelled for the Versace brand but certainly never knew anything about him. That really ticked off Naomi and rightly so!

@@demibellini6915 Excuse you. When Gianni was alive the house/ the name/ the brand was still Versace. When this Nicole woman modelled, the house did not have Gianni, it's manager at the helm. By that time Donatella and her her managers did not specifically hand pick muses or models either like Gianni once did for his clothing. He hand picked Naomi during his tenure. Nicole just got a job to walk for the brand. She was comparing herself to Naomi and she was out of line! By that time the fashion houses just accepted whatever coathanger model that was assigned to them by their agent.

For some quick context, Nicole had been doing digs at Naomi the entire season from episode 1, so Naomi already didn’t like her, and then when Nicole has all of her girls eventually eliminated, she got upset and then this happened. From what I recall, you don’t touch the dress if it’s too long because it ruins the material/looks unprofessional or something like that, and you’re supposed to kind of kick it out with your feet. So, while admittedly, Naomi could’ve handled it better and not been as petty as she was, Nicole had it kinda coming because of her previous interactions, PLUS trying to start this argument and then back away like she’s the victim.

She had the audacity to bring up Versace in order to try and throw Naomi under the bus as being a hypocrite. Saying they would never act as harsh a she did, which was ridiculous and disrespectful. If you couldn't see her line of thinking while she started that spiel- anyway. In addition, Versace brought Naomi up and was an amazing mentor who she respected, so saying those baseless things were ridiculous. Not to mention Nicole contradicted herself because those top names would NEVER launch out a model who was not ready, and the model Naomi got rid of had FAILED. I typed this in like 30 seconds so if there are any typos, oh well.

Lets be honest, no matter how "iconic' or how much of a "queen" naomi is no person including all the people who are praising her for this outburst would want to be friends with someone who talks like that. A bully is a bully regardless of whether you're a fashion icon or not.

Am I the only one that understood what Nicole was trying to say? I think she meant to say that these brands wouldn't put them as models into a situation where they needed to handle the dress to walk. It's unreasonable to expect a shorter model to be able to flawlessly walk in a dress that's far too long for them and designers would be aware of that and work around it instead or not hire them in the first place. Nowhere did I get the vibe that she was comparing herself to Naomi.

Naomi’s head is too big to grasp this. She found out they worked for the same brand and didn’t even care to understand why Nicole even said what she said, she just always has to prove she’s better than everyone. Childish and unprofessional with a touch of narcissism. I have never liked Naomi through all the years of watching the face.

For context, this video came from the Australian version of Naomi's show called The Face (she also served as Executive Producer). How the game works was that, from week to week, the mentors, each with 4 girls, competed in challenges called "campaigns" where the 2 losing mentors had to each nominate one girl to send for elimination where the winning mentor decided who goes home. Each campaign was a team effort unlike ANTM which was an individual competiton. Before the campaign however, each mentor was preselected to host a master class/test shoot where the girls competed as individuals to prepare them for the actual campaign. Also, unlike ANTM, the client of the week decided who won the campaign. At the end of it all however, the final client (actually the main client the girls had to please all season) decided who won the competition and became the next "face" of their brand. For the Australian version, the model mentors were Naomi, Cheyenne Tozzi and Nicole Trunfio. About Naomi and Nicole, they had butted heads from the beginning. During casting week, Nicole and Naomi were interested in one girl. Nicole argued that the girl should choose her as her mentor because Naomi was "old" and "not a model of today", which of course upset Naomi. There is a separate Naomi freakout for this, which you gotta see. Fast forward to Episode 5: Nicole was down to her last girl Anouska (Team Nicole never caught a break; one girl turned out to be pregnant and had to leave, then two girls were eliminated by Cheyenne and Naomi in that order, leaving Anouska as the last member of the team). This week's challenge was a fashion show at the Sydney Opera House in which Team Naomi won. Being Nicole's last girl, Anouska was nominated by default. During elimination, Naomi commented that Anouska lifted her dress unflatteringly as she walked up the stairs (the runway began on top of a long flight of stairs). Naomi felt that Anouska's performance was worse than Cheyenne's girl so she eliminated her, effectively wiping out Team Nicole altogether. The meltdown you're watching now was the aftermath of Anouska's elimination where a bitter Nicole went on to rant at Naomi and brought up Versace in a very entitled tone, which solicited a very strong response from Naomi since she is close to the Versace family, particularly Gianni who was murdered years ago. Just to let everyone know, since Nicole's team went extinct, whichever between Naomi or Cheyenne lost the next campaigns, the losing mentor had to nominate two girls instead.

@@ernesthemingay5397 she mentored the girls in their next test shoot, and while she no longer had a team, she still sat with the mentors behind the monitor while the models were shooting (while one mentor was working, she still sat next to the other; so if it's Team Naomi working, Nicole still sat next to Cheyenne to watch behind the scenes). Nicole still walked the finale fashion show but of course she walked alone.

Out of context, Naomi would seem really egotistical (and she does have anger issues so that doesn’t help), but if you saw how Nicole interacted with Naomi all season, you would see that Nicole had it coming. This was just the last straw for Naomi, and then Nicole tried to make herself look like she’s the innocent one when she’s actually been fueling the fire the entire season.

She had it out for Naomi from the beginning and karma came for her throughout by the girls on Nicole’s team. This isZoree not at all. This girl (Anushka) lifted her dress to walk more easily during a runway which is absolutely forbidden for a model. So Naomi eliminated her. Nicole was telling Naomi that she disagreed with her choice, and Naomi was upset because she obviously knows better about modelling than Nicole.

Nicole has been rude from the start. She refused to accept Naomi’s decision and was bitter that was her last girl in the team. Nicole should’ve been a better mentor. Courage to be in the wrong? Naomi earned her decision. Nicole knew this going in. Nicole built bad karma from the start and the chickens came home. @@talahrojas2737 Ella se volvio así porque durante su epoca muchas la atacaban y no le daban oportunidad por ser de piel negra, Versace le ayudo mucho en su carrera y Naomi aprendió a temprana edad que para triunfar en esa industria, no te tienes que dejar de nadie. No la culpo por actuar asi 🤷‍♂️

naomi was completely right. if you have limited options, you don't hire the one you feel like it has improved but the one that has already worked hard and is ready to go. maybe in other setting the model would've got the job out of pity, but she should be thankful for being mentored by naomi, for being told nothing but the truth about her skills. if she really loves the job, she will eventually learn to take the critics, specially if they come from seniors who know more. the other woman's comments were not necessary. at all. in fact, she's delaying her. - sorry for my english

You don't get why she's upset? You obviously don't know her credentials and the modelling business then. So why comment? it's not that "anyone else who has ever worked with Gianni must never, ever bring it up in front of her." Nicole knew what she was doing. She had the audacity to bring up Versace in order to try and throw Naomi under the bus as being a hypocrite. Saying they would never act as harsh a she did, which was ridiculous and disrespectful. If you couldn't see her line of thinking while she started that spiel- anyway. In addition, Versace brought Naomi up and was an amazing mentor who she respected, so saying those baseless things were ridiculous. Not to mention Nicole contradicted herself because those top names would NEVER launch out a model who was not ready, and the model Naomi got rid of had FAILED

@@carmencoke_8540 because she was trying to use those credentials to back up her statement of her being right which was disrespectful to naomi because she has walked for more high fashion runways then anyone can count thus making her choice more valid as shes more knowledgeable and has more experience. She was coming off as above naomi which is why naomi shut her down. Nicole hasn't been around as long as naomi yet feels she can tell naomi more about the fashion industry then she already knows which is disrespectful.

Honestly I feel Naomi never really respected Nichole because of how she started. Nichole started by winning a reality competition. She managed to walk in major fashion shows, but she has way less experience then Naomi. I think the producers brought her in

I don’t Know whether to be sick of Naomi or the People who are glorifying her arrogance. Never did Nicole compare herself to Naomi, Naomi just overreacted. Over reacted for what? It shows that she’s fearful of others striving to the top and I think she has a fear of not being popular anymore or losing her Fame. There’s a difference between being classy and being outright disrespectful. Class isn’t being arrogant, proud or getting angry for such trivial things and throwing shade at People. Like it or not her Karma will make her pay awfully someday but it will be too late. I wouldn’t be writing this comment if KZread hadn’t recommended me a bulk of her horrible videos to watch. Yea, she's a great model. But not because of that, she's right all the time. Nicole was calmly trying to make a discussion and it was never about themselves, but Naomi reacted as if her ego was stepped on just because someone had another opinion. Nicole was so graceful here.

I knew there was context. Everyone states that she's alluding to alterations when she's clearly talking about 'touching' dresses and there's plenty of evidence supporting that she pinched her dresses up etc. 😂 You don't become aggressive like that with someone who's clearly on the same 'level' at least on that show.

Nah man, Nicole was offending her all throughout the show subtly even before this ep. Gianni Versace is like a father to Naomi and when someone says "when WE'RE modelling for Cavalli and Versace", it will really insult you since they're not from the same era. Naomi have to work really hard because on her time, women of color are still getting racist remarks. So basically saying WE, it really insulted her because Nicole doesn't even have some sort of relationship with Gianni. Besides, Naomi was making a point and Nicole just wasn't listening. Naomi's got a point in not touching your dress. And besides, it's her choice to eliminate Nicole's girls because she won the challenge.

This became and iconic internet moment lol but some years after I watch it and Nicole doesn't even compare herself to Naomi, she was only going to say that in fittings for Dior, Versace and Cavalli the model can actually ''feel'' the piece that she is going to wear and probably know how easy or how hard is going to be to show that piece, Naomi made such a big deal out of nothing lmao

Lmao you didn't watch the all season. Nicole called Naomi old, outdated model in the first episode. I knew it was about to go down. She came for Naomi multiple times naomi didn't respond. Now she just lost it.

@@hao9508 As much as I adore Naomi and think that she is probaly the biggest supermodel in history, it isn't totally untrue. She is outdated for today high fashion standards, but who cares anyway? she is already an icon and to have her in a runway is a privilege for any designer.
