Odin IS Santa. If you check out the norse mithology, you find Odin will bring presents to children, dressed as Gandalf the Grey before the americans turned him into Coca Cola red some 100 years ago

Fun fact: Angus McOdin is officially canon in the Gloryhammer lore. He is the angus that died in the latest album and reborn as Odin

There is a tipical italian Christmas reference in the back in the dinner scenes, on TV you can see Trading Places. For us this is a tipical christmas movie and and is broadcast every year on Christmas Eve

Explaning eye-patched Odin: in norse mythology, Odin is often represented with only one eye, since he, if I remember well (and I really should, since my PG has norse origin and I want to role him well), traded it (he has an exceptional eyesight) for the ability to read runes and practice sorcery. You get lost in IKEA, Nanowar get lost in Carrefour. Check out their song The Quest For Carrefour 😂

they have 3 or 4 albums released actually. But aside from the last album (stairway to valhalla), most of it is in italian, so unless you speak the language you dont get any jokes and it's just...music. The first album with english songs on it was "other bands play, nanowar gay". They are a pretty popular band in italy though, even outside the metal scene everyone knows them

Nothing about the Hebrew when Angus McFife/Mighty Santa Odin appeared?

There's a lot of lols in the music and video as well (not just the lyrics), you mentioned the Odin, the dancing, the Ikea t-shirts everywhere. Also the concept of mixing those two worlds is hilarious in itself and it is expressed in the music (gospel+metal) and the lyrics (old norse+latin) as well. It really is a masterpiece.

Nanowar of Steel is AWESOME, best comedy band out there (unless you count Steel Panther as a comedy band, but it would be close then and way better than Tenacious D imo). I would recommend you listen to Norwegian Reggaeton and Barbie, MILF princess of the Moonlight (feat Fabio Lione of Rhapsody in Flames, who is the band that NoS started doing covers and parodies of) and And then I noticed she was a gargoyle. These guys are PURE fun!!!!

@@APREACTS It is really tragic and it totally took the steam out of me for buying IKEA furniture. I used to really like IKEA but can no longer justify buying it :( EDIT: And after listening to their PR representative it was even more infuriating. Despite them settling with the families, she was absolving themselves of all guilt by saying it was up to the parents to make sure the chest-of-drawers were safe.

For the non-Italians: when they sing “falegn-amen” at the end, it’s an intended pun: it comes from “falegname” (which means “carpenter”) and “amen” (no explanation needed here).
