This Ladino song is about matchmaking! A mother proposes to her daughter to marry rich, tall and jealous grooms, but the daughter refuses them all!
The daughter explains why it's important to marry out of love and not out of obligation, and at the end they agree to disagree - as the daughter ends up marrying the drunk!
This modern Ladino song composed by @nanivazana goes against the Sephardic arranged marriage tradition in the whatsapp era.
In the video Nani plays both the characters of the mother and the daughter :)
"No Kero Madre" means "No Mother I Don't Want"!

Mother: Marry a tall man, he's so pretty
Daughter: Looks isn't everything
Mother: Marry a rich man, you'll never worry again
Daughter: He's not wise, I prefer to debate philosophy
Mother: Marry a jealous man, he might as well be faithful
Daughter: He's too possessive, it repulses me
Mother: You're a lost cause, you might as well marry the drunk!

Dag Nani, Je bent in de loop der jaren sinds ik je de eerste keer ontmoette (2007) bijzonder goed bezig. Ik denk dat je geen tijd hebt om het koor te leiden. Jammer genoeg kon ik bij je recente optredens hier in Amsterdam door ziekte er niet bijzijn. Als ik het goed zie is deze laatste opname in Buitenveldert gemaakt. Muy graciosa la canción. Pero la entiendo menos que otras canciones en ladino. El estribillo sí se capta bien. Me recuerda en el ritmo y en la voz a una cantante española llamada Amparanoia.
