Nancy Wilson - The Song Is You - 1966

Комедия

"Yesterday's Love Songs, Tomorrows Blues" was the original album where this song was first released. Available on CD from all good retailers. Here's Nancy singing it as the guest star on a 1966 episode of "I Spy", rescued here from a very old tape of mine. You can also get this on the DVD of Season Two of "I Spy". It is Episode Two, entitled "Lori", where Nancy guest-stars, & plays a jazz singer involved in a little intrigue, as well as singing three short numbers. This clip has the the up-tempo "The Song Is You".

She was and remains my favorite. Saw her early around the early 90s at Blues Alley in DC for the first time. Almost forgot I was on a date.

Thank you for posting this clip. Nancy Wilson was a beautiful, talented, down-to-earth performer. We lost a treasure but her voice and music lives on. Continue to rest peacefully, Queen.

And just think, about 30 years later, Mr. Cosby and the very gifted Ms. Wilson play each other's in-laws in the Cosby Show episode where Martin's mother and father come to visit and meet Cliff and Claire for the first time! My goodness, I guess true artistic chemistry always finds a way of reuniting talented people together again, yes? Don't believe me? Look up The Cosby Show S6 Ep09 - Grampy and NuNu. Nancy Wilson and Phylicia Rashad are incredible! =) You're welcome!
