mr0gan it's a skill the majority of people who use computers at school or even at a daily basis don't pick up it's sort of the equivalent of moving to a country for a 10 years and half the people will naturally pick up the language with no studying but others will have to study hard and still won't know the language fluently

It helps if you group the countries together in your head. When I think Oceania I instantly think NK PM - Nauru Kiribati, Palau Micronesia. Both also border each other West to East.

The reason why I don't use Yakko;s world is because it is incredibly inaccurate and outdated. The Carribeans is a group of about 9 or 10 countries. Puerto Rico is part of the US. Bermuda is an oversees territory of the UK. French Guina is part of France. Guam is a territory of the US. Czechoslovakia is now two countries Czechia(Czech Republic) and Slovakia. Scotland and England form the UK plus Northern Ireland and Wales. Korea is two countries: South Korea and North Korea. Borneo is split between 3 countries Brunei, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The Cayman Islands is part of the UK too. Hong KOng is a China Special Administrative Region. Abu Dhabi part of the UAE. Yugoslavia is now split between a bunch of countries. There are 13 inaccuracies in Yakko's world.

i found a quiz that showed the country without naming it and played it before my sister and father as i named the countries. i allowed them to search for a map to look at as the video played, and i still managed to name every country before them, which is something that i find very funny.

Something about people being good at geography is just really attractive to me

@@nyamcats5394 ok first of all, it really only does take interest lol (and ofcourse it takes time to practice, but if you like the practicing you're gonna know them so much faster then when it's a burden), I can easily name every single country without looking at a map, and trust me my memory really isn't anything special. Also learning 197 names by heart is so very different then learning an instrument. Instruments are extremely complex and you indeed need a lot of talent playing them. Countries are nothing but names, and it's even iesier because you see thel everywhere: on the news, in school, on social media,... Most people already have a pretty big base knowledge of countries, whereas anything musical never appears in our lives like that.

Swaziland changed its name to Eswatini. Got me thinking about name changes, which led me onto FYROM (Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia) changing its name to Northern Macedonia. I entered it since I often forgot Macedonia when trying the countries blindfolded in my previous attempts.
