His live solo for Crossroads in 1968 is phenomenal. I notice that, in the early days of Black Sabbath, Tony Iommi appeared to be borrowing a lot from Clapton. 😎🎸🎸

I wasn't a big clapton fan until I heard his solo on 'Politician' from Cream's live set at the Royal Albert Hall in 2005. Easily the greatest solo I have ever heard!

Guess it depends on what era of Clapton we're talking about but the opening solo to Further on up the road from the last waltz is a master class on tasty Clapton blues. In 1 12 bar passage you get everything you need to play an awesome solo over a 12 bar blues. The secret is his use of the 6th. Really classes up the usual pentatonic scale.

Another great video! I am amazed that most of the time (thanks to Marty) I now know what guitarists are playing, just by watching their hands! Marty lost me at the end with his hyper-sonic combo skills though! And we are blessed with his mastery to attempt to catch him and become the maestro ourselves! Thanks Again Man!
