@@HeavyTopspin problem is Djoko will play only Rome, RG, Wimbledon, Olympics, Cincinnati, US open, Paris and Finals. Not sure if Nadal gonna play many of these, and if he does, it’s also not very probable that he’ll face Novak.

And yes, Rublev had problems with his emotions obviously, but I hope - you saw it in Madrid - that he's improving and working on it and that's the most important thing. I strongly suspect he has also discussed the incident you describe with a therapist or his psychologist, if he has one.

It's not bad as it sounds. There are levels of this inflammation. In his case it just kept him focused on playing and staying healthy as possible. Believe me if there was a real worry he would be out without hesitating one second...

I dont want to create drama no? But last 5 years were nothing but drama and excuses rafa. What you were prior to 2019 (before you saw the dream of ending as GOAT) and what have you become since (hatred and GOAT thought has consumed rafa i feel. I am sure rafantics eill come at me but i have seen enough instances of rafa clearly expressing jealous and loser mentality for me to conclude it this way). Having said that, rafa will be rafa in my heart.. Once a rafan, even though more of a nole fam these days, always would have respect for rafa. Your retirement would be a great loss to the tennis world, wish you well champ. Vamoss to the 15th and 23rd slam 🙌

I do think Rafa is a frustrated a bit because Novak is statistically the GoaT. He did say in a Spanish inverview an year ago or so, that Novak would be frustrated ("frustrado") if he couldn't be the GoaT, and that's what is pushing him forward. He's definitely not completely at peace with the fact that Novak surpassed him in terms of overall trophies. That being said, never will we see another player dominate a single surface like the way Rafa has dominated clay. He will be remembered as the 2nd GoaT, and as the tennis player achieving the most amazing feat in the sport, which is winning 14 trophies in a single Grand Slam event. When he retires in this year's RG, I hope the French organizers will prepare a dignified farewell ceremony for him.

@@vhyles Ultimately Djokovic is winning the count, but with Federer no longer playing, and with an older Nadal. Still no denying his greatness, however history will have all 3 at the top. There’s a good NY Times piece about who is the GOAT.
