N scale trees

I received a request for a video on how I make my trees. I'm freelance so my trees are pretty generic.

This is just what I needed. The family will be watching so they can help me cover the barren layout. Thanks for mentioning this vid in your vid of october 25, 2021. Enjoy the spring, I hope to see you next fall. You have come a long way in two years.

Sweet tutorial, thanks for sharing. I like how you use the wet paint instead of spray glue. Besides... The paint probably holds the turf better than the spray glue would! Lol

very simple to make - Usually called "Chimney brush" trees because of the same design a chimney brush is made of however, by making sure your "branches" are not all the same or tapered to look like an arrow head, it is best to stagger the short lengths of rope fibres with the longer or add the fibres offset. Makes for a real good looking tree, really.

Great video on how you make a tree. I will definitely have to try that to get a bit of variety of different trees. So far I have been using Ron Marsh's technique with furnace filters. By the way Roy Smith sent me over. Thanks for sharing. Randy

I've watched Ron's video using the filters. I would like to try but I'm not sure where I can get the furnace filter.

These look super! Simple, quick.. I’m curious if you’ve ever decided to give any extra attention to the trunks? I’ve seen them wrapped in foil and painted.. maybe for the trees that end up closer to the front of a layout where the trunks are more visible. Fantastic!

I have thought about it but I’m not too worried it. When I’m standing back watching my trains I don’t notice it. If I was to put them in showing more trunk I make consider it.
