    Absolutely paint your grass. I airbrush all of mine with very dilute tamiya paint. It really helps to blend everything together and add some subtle shades that replicate what's in nature. Love watching the layout progress, the refinery is amazing!

    I recently came across your channel when researching modelling a rail served fuel distribution depot for my UK layoout, this is absolutely brilliant and your eye for little details is great. Please let us know if you ever change your mind re selling your 3D design files for your tanker loading gantry as it looks awesome.. I model UK N gauge but you are proving a great ideas source, and your adding of little details to make a scene come to life. Thank you as a new subscriber from the UK.

    You definitely have an eye for composing a scene and the requisite skill to model it. Well done and looking forward to seeing the bridge go in!

    Looking great! Love the little brown patches, keep doing it the rest of the layout, they do make a difference. Even if it’s JUST subtle enough, it plays tricks on our eyes and makes it feel less “plain”. Love the details too, they definitely elevate that whole area quite a bit. Looking forward to the next installment. Be well, Sean

    I definitely want some people and especially vehicles. N scale is extremely limited on what to find, and the really good products are ridiculously expensive. But I do have a vehicle coming in a future video.

    Details are looking great! Thanks for the tip on the static grass applicator. Looked like you used a laptop power supply. Is that correct? I have several of those and the exact woodland scenic applicator. I am anxious to give that a try. All of the Jersey road barriers around here are left the natural concrete color. I am located close to a concrete batch plant that makes those things. Thanks for another great video.

  • @nscaler454

    It was a power supply for a tv cable box haha. If the end fits, is 12v, and sufficient amps, then it will work. Just be certain the polarity is correct. I believe the Static King requires center negative. Jersey barriers are typically left concrete. It's just very hard to get a realistic concrete paint.

    Usually Jersey Barriers are a whiter concrete?, at least in Midwest and Mid South.

    Depends on the manufacturing and age or exposure to elements. I personally find concrete very difficult to find a good color for.

    Could you tell me more about how you modified your Static King with the red wire and metal mesh?

  • @nscaler454

    @nscaler454

    Жыл бұрын

    I ran a copper wire from the screw inside the static king and let it touch a steel mesh that sits within the grid plate. All you're doing is energizing the steel mesh which brings the static charge closer to the layout surface.

  • @TrainAssassin

    @TrainAssassin

    Жыл бұрын

    Gotcha!!! As for the steel mesh at 2:09, is it precut/made to fit the grid, and also, where did you purchase that from?

    I am sure I could upscale the jersey barrier to HO scale. Though I wouldn't be surprised if there are about 50 different kinds in HO already.
