In case anyone wonders, it's the simulation of a pendulum with 32 nodes, which is insanely chaotic. Usually only 2 or 3 nodes are used to demonstrate the chaotic properties of pendulums. It's pretty much just flexing at that point But it looks cool

Nah. Not 100% sure, but it seems to me, that the simulation just isn't very accurate. You can almost hear the floating point math groaning every time the end of the pendulum passes the lowest point of the swing.

@@ruroruro It's not floating point (or at least not noticeably so), and it won't behave exactly like a string. This weirdness is all due to lack of friction. Given n approaches infinity AND friction at the joints, it would behave like a string

@@graysonking16 well, you'll also probably need to simulate compressibility, tension and rigidity, unless it's an infinitely thin rope, but that's besides the point. What I meant is that the motion looks slightly glitchy to me. Especially at the points, when the pendulum stretches to the limit and "recoils" back. I am not an expert, but I've written a couple of toy fixed step physics simulations and they always get really inaccurate, if you try to simulate very large forces, that are applied for very short periods of time, exactly like in this case. Maybe, this isn't a fixed step simulation, but since it looks wrong in exactly the way I've seen fixed step simulations fail, I've assumed, that the same situation happened here.

どうやったらリアルな紐に近づくか考えるのも面白そう 例えば、 肘の部分の角度をパラメータに追加してみるとか、 もう一つ軸を追加して初期位置を少しだけずらしてみるとか、 ねじれ具合を考えてみるとか 追記：リアルなヒモだと、空気抵抗の影響が大きそうですね

@@bobross5716 My impression is that the pendulum illustrates the equipartition theorem (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equipartition_theorem ) , with energy spreading evenly across all degrees of freedom. It shouldn't be hard to compute the average kinetic and rotational energies of each bead / bead pair
