She has the best intonation I've ever heard from a classical violinist. Passion, interpretation...it's like this is exactly how the music is supposed to sound. Remarkable.

I'm really impressed by her technique. This is definitely one of the most difficult paganini caprices but she looks so comfortable. Her musicality is amazing too!

Simply speechless...saying that it is perfect almost sounds like an insult because that would've been boring. Never imagined Paganini 4 to be so moving

True. I remember listening to an album with all 24 pieces and I absolutely always skipped #4 because I found it boring. Dueñas showed dimensions to this piece I didn't know were there.

@@Xerkun Interesting. #4 has always been one of my favorites ever since I heard Ziyu He play it in Menuhin. I don't really even like the other ones. There was a famous violinist - I forget who - who said that #4 was one of Paganini's more musical caprices out of the 24.

Ah yes, same for me. My classical music knowledge is pitiful and to be honest i don't particularly enjoy this piece (probably because i don't understand it well) but she is so magnificent i just watch and listen in stunned awe.

This is unbelievably incredible.. never heard Paganini 4 that passionate!

I have heard this piece by many violinists but this is the first time it has come alive and really takes you on a journey. It isn't just violinist showmanship. It's really expressive music.

This is the toughest Caprice in Paganini's collection. Unbelievable playing. I really don't know what to say that would sufficiently render my profound respect and admiration for you Maria. How did you get to be so spectacular? Only God knows.

I've heard this caprice from other masters, but this is the first time I really enjoyed it. It is not played by a senseless robot. A lot of drama and emotion into it. Congrats!

That’s the thing. For those of us who have heard N violinists play these caprices we usually develop some kind of perception of what each one sounds like over the years. And then here comes Maria and she completely shatters those perceptions and somehow makes it sound like each one of these pieces was written for her. She is everything, and more.

Her sound is uncanny. Never has a solo violin sounded so big and her tone is just sumptuous. Add to that her imagination and temperament and you have a pretty heady outcome. Best version of this piece I have ever heard.

Heaven and Earth came together at the conception of this musician! She's a musical anomaly. To say she practiced to the ends of the Earth to achieve this level of playing doesn't seem possible. The violin on your hand is like a heart that is still beating. I don't know much about classical music but I can feel it.

Had the pleasure to listen to her yesterday evening in the Dvorak violin concerto in Lucerne (Switzerland). Impressive talent and musicality.

This is, bar none, the best interpretation of this Caprice in the world. Probably the best performance of it ever, since its composition in the early 1800s. I just recorded and uploaded my own version of this caprice, but it doesn't hold a candle to this one!
