In this episode of Tarikh Nikhil talks about The history of the creation of Telangana as a separate state within India. The roots of the Telangana movement can be traced back to the 1950s when India went through a process of reorganising states on linguistic lines. Telugu-speaking regions were merged to form the state of Andhra Pradesh in 1956, which included both the coastal Andhra region and the Telangana region. However, from the beginning, there were concerns among Telangana leaders and activists that the region would face discrimination and neglect in the unified state. Over the years, these concerns grew, as Telangana witnessed slower development, lack of infrastructure, and political underrepresentation compared to the coastal Andhra region. Issues such as land ownership, irrigation projects, employment opportunities, and resource allocation further exacerbated the grievances of the people of Telangana. This led to the rise of a strong movement demanding a separate statehood for Telangana.
The movement gained momentum in the early 2000s with the formation of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party, led by K. Chandrashekar Rao. The TRS spearheaded the movement, organising protests, strikes, and demonstrations to press for their demand. The movement garnered widespread support, with students, intellectuals, political leaders, and the general public actively participating in the agitation. In 2009, the Indian government initiated the process of bifurcating Andhra Pradesh into two separate states, with Telangana as one state and the remaining regions continuing as Andhra Pradesh. However, due to various political and administrative challenges, the process faced delays and obstacles.Finally, on June 2, 2014, the state of Telangana was officially formed, with Hyderabad as its capital.

Article 371 dekho bhai. Special provisions are given for certain states. In our Telangana state 95% of total govt jobs of our state are reserved for locals.

Region of telengana was poor and people for that region were treated poorly by the people of AP. Although the seat of power was in Hyderabad most of the money invested inthe city was from AP. In doing so today AP is bikari state without the revenue generating city and people of telengana are little bit unhappy because the Hyderabad is basically people from Andhra. So no one is happy today. Although telengana has seen greater development because of someone else's efforts. Meanwhile decades of insulting behavior towards the people and culture of telengana has forced Ap into poverty.

Region of Telangana was richest during 1948, this is reason why Andhra lobby pressurized for unity bcoz Andhra was in huge deficit after division from Madras

@@sadiqsd7800 well just Hyderabad was rich and not the entire state. Actually the people were poorer especially those who lived outside of the city. Yes Jamindaars were rich but a common man was always poor. That's why you had the communist revolution against the Nizams. And the fact that Andhra lobbyied to join Telengana is untrue, it was the other way around. Hyderabad was proposed as a capital because it had all the infrastructure but Kurnool was the preferred capital before the proposal came from Telengana. The old Hyderabad was built by taxing the poor peasants and the modern Hyderabad without a shadow of a doubt was built by the Andhra settlers. Infact the people of Andhra wanted the state to be divided again in 1970's until Indra Gandhi squched the protests.

65% people of Hyderabad city constitutes Telanganites and rest are from Andhra. People of AP should deserve the current situation lacking capital for their state and struck in poverty without revenue because they looted our jobs and resources for 58 years. Jai Telangana.

@@R_Umesh_Chandra can't argue with that. But unlike you as a person from Andhra and having lived all my life in Hyderabad, I hope both states are in the top. At the end of the day both of us speak the same language. I have given up this negative mentality and wish everyone prospers according to their deeds.

This is how you do research? 1. Odia is neither South Indian language nor North Indian language. 2. Odisha became a state on 1st April 1936 and Odia districts of Madras Presidency were already added to the new province on same day. 3. There no demand of separate Odia state after independence as all Odia princely states were added to Odisha during Sardar Patel's attempt of reunification of states into India. No telangana was in hyderabad state and Andhra was in Madras state.Telangana only saperated on the basis of underdevelopment and dominated politics by coastal Andhra people.
