Thank you, no problem. Thanks for watching.
Nice update! loved all the new details. Great tip about gluing and filing the wheels on the vehicles. The weathering looked nicely done and not to over powering. I am now at this stage with my layout so this is a very timely find which I found useful, All the best Tony.

Thanks Tony, glad it is of some use to you. When it comes to weathering I find it hard to judge when enough is enough... Sometimes less is more!
Excellent your back. 😀👍

@@hedgehoghobbies2836 I'm looking forward to your next video. Are you going to the NEC Warley model railway event at the end of November
For large cable spools, you could use a sewing bobbin. These are plastic and about 20mm overall diameter withan 8mm external diameter shaft. You just need disguise the ends to make them look wooden.

Hi there... it is interesting you say that as I originally looked at bobbins. However, for N gauge they are all way too big. The little pieces I made are about 5mm in overall diameter, they're tiny!
Looking really good. 🙂

Thanks very much for your comment.
Weathering!! For many years I have thought yes but never got round to it. Now it's not just the exhibition layout but over 1000 pieces of rolling stock. Too old and shaky to do it all now. However looking at this video really makes me want to have a go. When the layout was at shows I never ever had any comments about lack of weathering to my stock, but I did put some paint on my 200 mineral coal wagons which came up rather well, more by chance than design. Thanks for the video, really enjoyed it and I have subscribed. Cheers, Bob

Thanks Bob! For me, weathering has made all the difference and makes the whole thing look more 'real' to me. But everyone has their preferences... if you're happy with your wagons and layout as-is then it's all good!
For painting PLA, a quick dusting with halfords plastic primer spray allows your paint to stick really well. Your layout looks tremendous by the way

Thanks for your kind comment David, that's a good tip for the PLA. I have a whole bunch of Halfords primer in the garage!
Hi Nice little layout, its the details that take thinking about to make it look how you want it, great work!

Wonderful layout. Do you think you could do a wagon weathering video? Nearly every other video on KZread used an airbrush and I know you said you don't currently.

Hi there! Thanks for your comment... I am currently working on a weathering video as per your suggestion! Thanks.
That looks really amazing well done! Are you ever going to build another n gauge layout?

Hi Oscar, thank you for the positive words! Yes I would certainly like to build a much larger layout, either in N gauge or OO. I just don't have the space for it right now unfortunately.
What time do we clock on ? great stuff, so well done, admire your patience and skill

Nine o'clock on the dot Mr Sheriff! Thanks for your kind words.
I think no driver would want to take out a lorry onto the road with that much dirt on the windscreen. I think you need to remove a lot more of weathering to look realistic.
micro magnets
what is the magnet on the track for?
@hedgehoghobbies2836
Жыл бұрын
Hi Tim, the magnets are for the couplers. If you stop over them (in theory), then you can uncouple wagons without having to touch them. If you watch my video here you can see them in action: kzread.info/dash/bejne/lmiXzcWjYNzJm5M.html
Why have you used N gauge vehicles with what is clearly OO guage trains?
@hedgehoghobbies2836
Жыл бұрын
If they're oo gauge trains then I got ripped off - they're tiny!
i'd ACTUALLY like to hear what you're saying. please ditch the dreadful lift moozak..................
